Revelation

1And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.

2And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,

3and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished: after this he must be loosed for a little time.

4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as worshipped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5The rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years should be finished. This is the first resurrection.

6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: over these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

7And when the thousand years are finished, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

8and shall come forth to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9And they went up over the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down out of heaven, and devoured them.

10And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne; and books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, even the lake of fire.

15And if any was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

1Bấy giờ tôi thấy một thiên thần từ trời xuống, tay cầm chìa khoá vực thẳm và một dây xích lớn.

2Người bắt lấy Con Mãng Xà, tức là Con Rắn xưa, cũng là ma quỷ hay Xa-tan, và xích nó lại một ngàn năm.

3Người quăng nó vào vực thẳm, rồi đóng cửa và niêm phong lại, để nó không còn mê hoặc các nước, cho đến khi hết một ngàn năm ấy. Sau đó, nó phải được thả ra trong một thời gian ngắn.

4Rồi tôi thấy những chiếc ngai, có người ngồi trên đó, và họ được ban quyền xét xử. Tôi cũng thấy linh hồn những người đã bị chém đầu vì đã rao giảng lời chứng của Đức Giê-su và lời của Thiên Chúa ; họ là những kẻ đã không thờ lạy Con Thú và tượng của nó, và không nhận thích dấu của nó trên trán và trên tay. Họ sống lại và hiển trị với Đức Ki-tô một ngàn năm.

5Những người khác trong số kẻ chết thì không được sống lại trước khi hết một ngàn năm ấy. Đó là lần phục sinh thứ nhất.

6Hạnh phúc thay và thánh thiện dường nào kẻ được dự phần vào cuộc phục sinh thứ nhất này ! Cái chết thứ hai không có quyền gì trên họ ; nhưng họ sẽ là tư tế của Thiên Chúa và của Đức Ki-tô, họ sẽ hiển trị với Đức Ki-tô một ngàn năm ấy.

7Hết một ngàn năm ấy, Xa-tan sẽ được thả ra khỏi ngục.

8Nó sẽ ra đi mê hoặc các nước ở khắp bốn phương thiên hạ là Gốc và Ma-gốc, và tập hợp chúng lại để giao chiến ; số chúng nhiều như cát biển.

9Chúng tiến lên lan tràn khắp mặt đất, bao vây doanh trại dân thánh và Thành Đô được Thiên Chúa yêu chuộng. Nhưng có lửa từ trời rơi xuống thiêu huỷ chúng.

10Ma quỷ, tên mê hoặc chúng, bị quăng vào hồ lửa và diêm sinh, ở đó đã có Con Thú và tên ngôn sứ giả ; và chúng sẽ bị làm khổ ngày đêm đời đời kiếp kiếp.

11Bấy giờ tôi thấy một ngai lớn màu trắng và thấy Đấng ngự trên đó. Đất và trời biến mất trước mặt Người, không để lại dấu vết.

12Rồi tôi thấy những người chết, lớn cũng như nhỏ, đứng trước ngai. Sổ sách đã mở sẵn ; rồi một cuốn khác cũng đã mở ra : đó là Sổ Trường Sinh. Các người chết được xét xử tuỳ theo việc họ đã làm, chiếu theo những gì đã được ghi chép trong sổ sách.

13Biển trả lại những người chết nó đang giữ ; Tử thần và Âm phủ trả lại những người chết chúng đang giữ, và mỗi người chịu xét xử tuỳ theo các việc đã làm.

14Tử thần và Âm phủ bị quăng vào hồ lửa. Hồ lửa này là cái chết thứ hai.

15Ai không có tên ghi trong Sổ Trường Sinh thì bị quăng vào hồ lửa.
