For the Chief Musician. On an instrument of Gath. By Asaph.

1Sing aloud to God, our strength!Make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob!

2Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine,the pleasant lyre with the harp.

3Blow the trumpet at the New Moon,at the full moon, on our feast day.

4For it is a statute for Israel,an ordinance of the God of Jacob.

5He appointed it in Joseph for a covenant,when he went out over the land of Egypt, I heard a language that I didn’t know.

6“I removed his shoulder from the burden.His hands were freed from the basket.

7You called in trouble, and I delivered you.I answered you in the secret place of thunder. I tested you at the waters of Meribah.” Selah.

8“Hear, my people, and I will testify to you,Israel, if you would listen to me!

9There shall be no strange god in you,neither shall you worship any foreign god.

10I am the LORD, your God,who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11But my people didn’t listen to my voice.Israel desired none of me.

12So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts,that they might walk in their own counsels.

13Oh that my people would listen to me,that Israel would walk in my ways!

14I would soon subdue their enemies,and turn my hand against their adversaries.

15The haters of the LORD would cringe before him,and their punishment would last forever.

16But he would have also fed them with the finest of the wheat.I will satisfy you with honey out of the rock.”

1Hãy ca tụng Đức Chúa Trời, sức mạnh của chúng ta.Hãy lớn tiếng ngợi tôn Đức Chúa Trời của Gia-cốp.

2Hãy hát! Hãy đánh trống cơm.Hãy gãy đàn lia và đàn hạc.

3Hãy thổi kèn trong ngày trăng mới,lúc trăng rầm, và các ngày lễ hội.

4Đây là một định lễ cho Ít-ra-ên;là lệnh truyền từ Đức Chúa Trời của Gia-cốp.

5Một luật pháp Ngài lập với Giô-sép,khi Chúa ra tay chống Ai Cập, giải cứu chúng ta. Tôi nghe một thứ tiếng tôi không biết:

6“Ta đã cất gánh nặng khỏi vai các con;Bàn tay các con khỏi mang xách nặng nề.

7Trong gian truân các con kêu cầu, Ta đã giải cứu;Ta đáp lời từ trong mây vang tiếng sấm và Ta thử các con tại suối Mê-ri-ba.

8Hỡi dân Ta, hãy lắng tai nghe lời cảnh cáo.Hỡi Ít-ra-ên, nếu các con chỉ nghe lời Ta!

9Giữa xứ các con, đừng có tà thần;đừng quỳ lạy các thần ngoại giáo.

10Vì Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của các con,Đấng đã đem các con ra khỏi Ai Cập. Hãy hả miệng, Ta sẽ cho no đầy.

11Nhưng không, dân Ta không chịu nghe.Ít-ra-ên chẳng thuận phục lời Ta.

12Vì vậy Ta bỏ mặc họ theo lòng chai lì,theo mưu ý riêng của mình.

13Ôi, ước gì dân Ta nghe tiếng Ta!Và Ít-ra-ên đi theo đường lối Ta!

14Ta sẽ nhanh chóng đánh bại quân thù họ!Và Ta sẽ trở tay nghịch cùng kẻ địch!

15Những người ghét Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ thuận phục Ngài;họ sẽ được hưởng thời thịnh trị lâu dài.

16Ta sẽ nuôi các con bằng lúa thượng hạng.Và Ta sẽ cho các con no nê mật ong từ vầng đá.”
