1Chúa Hằng Hữu là ánh sáng và cứu tinh của tôi—vậy tôi sẽ sợ ai?Chúa Hằng Hữu là thành lũy của sinh mạng tôi,tôi còn kinh khiếp ai?

2Khi người ác xông vào tôi, hòng ăn nuốt tôi,khi quân thù và người cừu địch tấn công tôi, họ sẽ đều vấp chân và té ngã.

3Dù cả đạo quân vây quanh tôi,lòng tôi cũng không sợ hãi.Dù bị chiến tranh uy hiếp,tôi vẫn vững tâm tin cậy Ngài.

4Tôi xin Chúa Hằng Hữu một điều—điều lòng tôi hằng mong ước—là được sống trong nhà Chúa trọn đời tôiđể chiêm ngưỡng sự hoàn hảo của Chúa Hằng Hữu, và suy ngẫm trong Đền Thờ Ngài.

5Trong ngày hoạn nạn, Chúa sẽ che chở tôi,Ngài giấu tôi nơi kín đáo trong đền thánh Ngài, nâng tôi lên, đặt trên tảng đá.

6Đầu tôi được nâng cao hơn kẻ thù,trong nơi thánh Ngài, tôi sẽ dâng lễ vật tạ ơn, và vui mừng ca hát tôn vinh Chúa.

7Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu ôi, xin nghe con kêu cầu.Xin thương xót đáp lời khẩn nguyện!

8Con đã nghe Chúa phán: “Hãy đến và trò chuyện cùng Ta.”Và lòng con thưa rằng: “Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, con đang đến.”

9Lạy Chúa, Đấng cứu rỗi của con!Cầu xin Ngài đừng lánh mặt. Đừng nổi giận xua đuổi người tôi trung.Đã bao lần Chúa hằng cứu giúp.Đừng lìa xa, đừng từ bỏ con.

10Cho dù cha mẹ con giận bỏ, từ khước con,Chúa vẫn thương yêu, vẫn tiếp nhận con.

11Chúa Hằng Hữu ôi, xin dạy con đường lối Chúa,xin dẫn con vào lối an lành, vì kẻ thù vây quanh chờ đợi con.

12Xin đừng giao con cho họ.Vì họ hung hăng bạo tàn, định vu cáo buộc tội con.

13Con tin chắc sẽ thấy ân lành của Chúa Hằng Hữu,ngay trong đất người sống.

14Cứ trông đợi Chúa Hằng Hữu.Hãy vững tâm và can đảm. Phải, kiên nhẫn đợi trông Chúa Hằng Hữu.

A Psalm of David.

1The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

4One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

5For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

6And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

7Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

8When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.

9Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

11Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

12Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

13I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

14Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
