Revelation

1Rồi có điềm lớn xuất hiện trên trời : một người Phụ Nữ, mình khoác mặt trời, chân đạp mặt trăng, và đầu đội triều thiên mười hai ngôi sao.

2Bà có thai, đang kêu la đau đớn và quằn quại vì sắp sinh con.

3Lại có điềm khác xuất hiện trên trời : đó là một Con Mãng Xà, đỏ như lửa, có bảy đầu và mười sừng, trên bảy đầu đều có vương miện.

4Đuôi nó quét hết một phần ba các ngôi sao trên trời mà quăng xuống đất. Rồi Con Mãng Xà đứng chực sẵn trước mặt người Phụ Nữ sắp sinh con, để khi bà sinh xong là nó nuốt ngay con bà.

5Bà đã sinh được một người con, một người con trai, người con này sẽ dùng trượng sắt mà chăn dắt muôn dân. Con bà được đưa ngay lên Thiên Chúa, lên tận ngai của Người.

6Còn người Phụ Nữ thì trốn vào sa mạc ; tại đó Thiên Chúa đã dọn sẵn cho bà một chỗ ở, để bà được nuôi dưỡng ở đó, trong vòng một ngàn hai trăm sáu mươi ngày.

7Bấy giờ, có giao chiến trên trời : thiên thần Mi-ca-en và các thiên thần của người giao chiến với Con Mãng Xà. Con Mãng Xà cùng các thiên thần của nó cũng giao chiến.

8Nhưng nó không đủ sức thắng được, và cả bọn không còn chỗ trên trời nữa.

9Con Mãng Xà bị tống ra, đó là Con Rắn xưa, mà người ta gọi là ma quỷ hay Xa-tan, tên chuyên mê hoặc toàn thể thiên hạ ; nó bị tống xuống đất, và các thiên thần của nó cũng bị tống xuống với nó.

10nay bị tống ra ngoài.

11sẵn sàng chịu chết.

12nó chỉ còn một ít thời gian.”

13Khi Con Mãng Xà thấy mình đã bị tống xuống đất, nó liền đuổi bắt người Phụ Nữ đã sinh con trai.

14Bà được ban cho đôi cánh đại bàng, để bay vào sa mạc, vào nơi dành cho bà, tại đó bà được nuôi dưỡng một thời, hai thời và nửa thời, ở xa Con Rắn.

15Từ miệng, Con Rắn phun nước ra đằng sau bà như một dòng sông, để cuốn bà đi.

16Nhưng đất cứu giúp bà : đất há miệng ra uống cạn dòng sông từ miệng Con Mãng Xà phun ra.

17Con Mãng Xà nổi giận với người Phụ Nữ và đi giao chiến với những người còn lại trong dòng dõi bà, là những người tuân theo các điều răn của Thiên Chúa và giữ lời chứng của Đức Giê-su.

18Rồi nó đứng trên bãi cát ngoài biển.

1And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars:

2And being with child, she cried travailing in birth, and was in pain to be delivered.

3And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads, and ten horns: and on his head seven diadems:

4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered; that, when she should be delivered, he might devour her son.

5And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with an iron rod: and her son was taken up to God, and to his throne.

6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, that there they should feed her a thousand two hundred sixty days.

7And there was a great battle in heaven, Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels:

8And they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9And that great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who seduceth the whole world; and he was cast unto the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

10And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying: Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: because the accuser of our brethren is cast forth, who accused them before our God day and night.

11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of the testimony, and they loved not their lives unto death.

12Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you that dwell therein. Woe to the earth, and to the sea, because the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time.

13And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman, who brought forth the man child:

14And there were given to the woman two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the desert unto her place, where she is nourished for a time and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

15And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the woman, water as it were a river; that he might cause her to be carried away by the river.

16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the river, which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

17And the dragon was angry against the woman: and went to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

18And he stood upon the sand of the sea.
