1Sau đây là gia đình ông Ê-xau, tức là ông Ê-đôm.

2Ông Ê-xau cưới vợ trong số con gái Ca-na-an, đó là : A-đa, con gái ông Ê-lôn, người Khết ; O-ho-li-va-ma, con gái ông A-na, ông này là con trai ông Xíp-ôn, người Khi-vi ;

3và Ba-xơ-mát, con gái ông Ít-ma-ên, em gái ông Nơ-va-giốt.

4Bà A-đa sinh Ê-li-phát cho ông Ê-xau, bà Ba-xơ-mát sinh Rơ-u-ên.

5Bà O-ho-li-va-ma sinh Giơ-út, Gia-lam và Cô-rắc. Đó là những con trai ông Ê-xau sinh được tại đất Ca-na-an.

6Ông Ê-xau đem các bà vợ, các con trai con gái, mọi người nhà, tất cả đàn vật, gia súc và tất cả của cải ông đã gây được tại đất Ca-na-an, và đi đến một xứ, cách xa ông Gia-cóp, em ông.

7Thật vậy, họ quá nhiều tài sản không ở chung được, và đất họ đang trú ngụ không thể đủ chỗ cho họ chăn những đàn vật của họ.

8Ông Ê-xau sống ở vùng núi Xê-ia. Ông Ê-xau chính là ông Ê-đôm.

9Sau đây là gia đình ông Ê-xau, cha dân Ê-đôm, ở vùng núi Xê-ia.

10Đây là tên các con trai ông Ê-xau : Ê-li-phát, con trai bà A-đa, vợ ông Ê-xau, và Rơ-u-ên, con trai bà Ba-xơ-mát, vợ ông Ê-xau.

11Các con trai ông Ê-li-phát là : Tê-man, Ô-ma, Xơ-phô, Ga-ơ-tam và Cơ-nát.

12Bà Tim-na là vợ lẽ ông Ê-li-phát, con trai ông Ê-xau ; bà sinh A-ma-lếch cho ông Ê-li-phát. Đó là các con cháu bà A-đa, vợ ông Ê-xau.

13Sau đây là các con trai ông Rơ-u-ên : Na-khắt, De-rác, Sam-ma và Mít-da. Đó là các con cháu bà Ba-xơ-mát, vợ ông Ê-xau.

14Còn đây là các con trai của vợ ông Ê-xau là bà O-ho-li-va-ma, con gái ông A-na ; ông A-na là con trai ông Xíp-ôn : bà sinh Giơ-út, Gia-lam và Cô-rắc cho ông Ê-xau.

15Sau đây là các tộc trưởng của con cái Ê-xau. Các con trai ông Ê-li-phát, con đầu lòng của ông Ê-xau, là : tộc trưởng Tê-man, tộc trưởng Ô-ma, tộc trưởng Xơ-phô, tộc trưởng Cơ-nát,

16tộc trưởng Cô-rắc, tộc trưởng Ga-ơ-tam, tộc trưởng A-ma-lếch. Đó là các tộc trưởng phát xuất từ ông Ê-li-phát ở đất Ê-đôm, đó là các con cháu bà A-đa.

17Sau đây là các con trai ông Rơ-u-ên, con trai ông Ê-xau : tộc trưởng Na-khắt, tộc trưởng De-rác, tộc trưởng Sam-ma, tộc trưởng Mít-da. Đó là các tộc trưởng phát xuất từ ông Rơ-u-ên ở đất Ê-đôm, đó là các con cháu bà Ba-xơ-mát, vợ ông Ê-xau.

18Sau đây là các con trai bà O-ho-li-va-ma, vợ ông Ê-xau : tộc trưởng Giơ-út, tộc trưởng Gia-lam, tộc trưởng Cô-rắc. Đó là các tộc trưởng phát xuất từ bà O-ho-li-va-ma, con gái ông A-na, vợ ông Ê-xau.

19Đó là các con trai ông Ê-xau, đó là các tộc trưởng của họ. Đó là Ê-đôm.

20Sau đây là các con trai ông Xê-ia, người Khô-ri, là dân bản xứ : Lô-tan, Sô-van, Xíp-ôn, A-na,

21Đi-sôn, Ê-xe, Đi-san. Đó là các tộc trưởng người Khô-ri, là các con trai ông Xê-ia, ở đất Ê-đôm.

22Các con trai ông Lô-tan là : Khô-ri và Hê-mam ; em gái ông Lô-tan là Tim-na.

23Đây là các con trai ông Sô-van : An-van, Ma-na-khát, Ê-van, Sơ-phô và Ô-nam.

24Đây là các con trai ông Xíp-ôn : Ai-gia và A-na. Ông A-na này là người đã tìm thấy suối nước nóng trong sa mạc khi chăn lừa cho cha mình là ông Xíp-ôn.

25Đây là các con ông A-na : Đi-sôn và O-ho-li-va-ma, con gái ông A-na.

26Đây là các con trai ông Đi-sôn : Khem-đan, Ét-ban, Gít-ran và Cơ-ran.

27Đây là các con trai ông Ê-xe : Bin-han, Da-a-van và A-can.

28Đây là các con trai ông Đi-san : Út và A-ran.

29Sau đây là các tộc trưởng người Khô-ri : tộc trưởng Lô-tan, tộc trưởng Sô-van, tộc trưởng Xíp-ôn, tộc trưởng A-na,

30tộc trưởng Đi-sôn, tộc trưởng Ê-xe, tộc trưởng Đi-san. Đó là các tộc trưởng người Khô-ri theo các thị tộc của họ, ở đất Xê-ia.

31Sau đây là các vua đã trị vì đất Ê-đôm trước khi có một vua trị vì con cái Ít-ra-en.

32Vua Be-la, con ông Bơ-o, trị vì Ê-đôm ; thành của vua tên là Đin-ha-va.

33Vua Be-la qua đời, ông Giô-váp, con ông De-rác, người thành Bót-ra, lên kế vị.

34Vua Giô-váp qua đời, ông Khu-sam, người gốc xứ Tê-man, lên kế vị.

35Vua Khu-sam qua đời, ông Ha-đát, con ông Bơ-đát, lên kế vị. Vua này đánh bại người Ma-đi-an trong cánh đồng Mô-áp ; thành của vua tên là A-vít.

36Vua Ha-đát qua đời, ông Xam-la, người thành Mát-rê-ca, lên kế vị.

37Vua Xam-la qua đời, vua Sa-un, người thành Rơ-khô-vốt Ha Na-ha lên kế vị.

38Vua Sa-un qua đời, ông Ba-an Kha-nan, con ông Ác-bo, lên kế vị.

39Vua Ba-an Kha-nan, con ông Ác-bo, qua đời, ông Ha-đa lên kế vị ; thành của vua tên là Pa-u, vợ vua tên là Mơ-hê-táp-ên, con gái ông Mát-rết, người thành Mê Da-háp.

40Sau đây là tên các tộc trưởng phát xuất từ ông Ê-xau, theo dòng họ và địa phương của họ, theo tên của họ : tộc trưởng Tim-na, tộc trưởng An-va, tộc trưởng Giơ-thết,

41tộc trưởng O-ho-li-va-ma, tộc trưởng Ê-la, tộc trưởng Pi-nôn,

42tộc trưởng Cơ-nát, tộc trưởng Tê-man, tộc trưởng Míp-xa,

43tộc trưởng Mác-đi-ên, tộc trưởng I-ram. Đó là các tộc trưởng Ê-đôm, theo nơi ở của họ trong đất thuộc quyền sở hữu của họ. Chính ông Ê-xau là cha của dân Ê-đôm.

7For they were exceeding rich, and could not dwell together: neither was the land in which they sojourned able to bear them, for the multitude of their flocks.

8And Esau dwelt in mount Seir: he is Edom.

9And these are the generations of Esau the father of Edom in mount Seir,

10And these the names of his sons: Eliphaz the son of Ada the wife of Esau: and Rahuel the son of Basemath his wife.

11And Eliphaz had sons: Theman, Omar, Sepho, and Gatham, and Cenez.

12And Thamna was the concubine of Eliphaz the son of Esau: and she bore him Amalech. These are the sons of Ada the wife of Esau.

13And the sons of Rahuel were Nahath and Zara, Samma and Meza. These were the sons of Basemath the wife of Esau.

14And these were the sons of Oolibama, the daughter of Ana, the daughter of Sebeon, the wife of Esau, whom she bore to him, Jehus, and Ihelon, and Core.

15These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: duke Theman, duke Omar, duke Sepho, duke Cenez,

16Duke Core, duke Gatham, duke Amalech: these are the sons of Eliphaz, in the land of Edom, and these the sons of Ada.

17And these were the sons of Rahuel, the son of Esau: duke Nahath, duke Zara, duke Samma, duke Meza. And these are the dukes of Rahuel, in the land of Edom: these the sons of Basemath the wife of Esau.

18And these the sons of Oolibama the wife of Esau: duke Jehus, duke Ihelon, duke Core. These are the dukes of Oolibama, the daughter of Ana, and wife of Esau.

19These are the sons of Esau, and these the dukes of them: the same is Edom.

20These are the sons of Seir the Horrite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, and Sobal, and Sebeon, and Ana,

21And Dison, and Eser, and Disan. These are dukes of the Horrites, the sons of Seir in the land of Edom.

22And Lotan had sons: Hori and Heman. And the sister of Lotan was Thamna.

23And these the sons of Sobal: Alvan and Manahat, and Ebal, and Sepho, and Oman.

24And these the sons of Sebeon: Aia and Ana. This is Ana that found the hot waters in the wilderness, when he fed the asses of Sebeon his father:

25And he had a son Dison, and a daughter Oolibama.

26And these were the sons of Dison: Hamdan, and Eseban, and Jethram, and Charan.

27These also were the sons of Eser: Balaan, and Zavan, and Acan.

28And Disan had sons: Hus, and Aram.

29These were dukes of the Horrites: duke Lotan, duke Sobal, duke Sebeon, duke Ana,

30Duke Dison, duke Eser, duke Disan: these were dukes of the Horrites that ruled in the land of Seir.

31And the kings that ruled in the land of Edom, before the children of Israel had a king were these:

32Bela the son of Beor, and the name of his city Denaba.

33And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zara of Bosra reigned in his stead.

34And when Jobab was dead, Husam of the land of the Themanites reigned in his stead.

35And after his death, Adad the son of Badad reigned in his stead, who defeated the Madianites in the country of Moab: and the name of his city was Avith.

36And when Adad was dead, there reigned in his stead, Semla of Masreca.

37And he being dead, Saul of the river Rohoboth, reigned in his stead.

38And when he also was dead, Balanan the son of Achobor succeeded to the kingdom.

39This man also being dead, Adar reigned in his place, and the name of his city was Phau: and his wife was called Meetabel, the daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezaab.

40And these are the names of the dukes of Esau in their kindreds, and places, and callings: duke Thamna, duke Alva, duke Jetheth,

41Duke Oolibama, duke Ela, duke Phinon,

42Duke Cenez, duke Theman, duke Mabsar,

43Duke Magdiel, duke Hiram: these are the dukes of Edom dwelling in the land of their government; the same is Esau the father of the Edomites.
