给青年人的忠告

1我儿，不要忘记我的法则； 你心要谨守我的诫命；

2因为它必将长久的日子， 生命的年数与平安，加给你。

3不可使慈爱、诚实离开你， 要系在你颈项上，刻在你心版上。

4这样，你必在 神和世人眼前 蒙恩宠，有聪明。

5你要专心仰赖耶和华， 不可倚靠自己的聪明，

6在你一切所行的事上都要认定他， 他必指引你的路。

7不要自以为有智慧； 要敬畏耶和华，远离恶事。

8这便医治你的肚脐， 滋润你的百骨。

9你要以财物 和一切初熟的土产尊荣耶和华。

10这样，你的仓房必充满有余； 你的酒榨有新酒盈溢。

11我儿，你不可轻看耶和华的管教， 也不可厌烦他的责备；

12因为耶和华所爱的，他必责备， 正如父亲责备所喜爱的儿子。

13得智慧，得聪明的， 这人便为有福。

14因为得智慧胜过得银子， 其利益强如精金，

15比珍珠宝贵； 你一切所喜爱的，都不足与比较。

16她右手有长寿， 左手有富贵。

17她的道是安乐； 她的路全是平安。

18她与持守她的作生命树； 持定她的，俱各有福。

19耶和华以智慧立地， 以聪明定天，

20以知识使深渊裂开， 使天空滴下甘露。

21我儿，要谨守真智慧和谋略， 不可使她离开你的眼目。

22这样，她必作你的生命， 颈项的美饰。

23你就坦然行路， 不致碰脚。

24你躺下，必不惧怕； 你躺卧，睡得香甜。

25忽然来的惊恐，不要害怕； 恶人遭毁灭，也不要恐惧。

26因为耶和华是你所倚靠的； 他必保守你的脚不陷入网罗。

27你手若有行善的力量，不可推辞， 就当向那应得的人施行。

28你那里若有现成的，不可对邻舍说： 去吧，明天再来，我必给你。

29你的邻舍既在你附近安居， 你不可设计害他。

30人未曾加害与你， 不可无故与他相争。

31不可嫉妒强暴的人， 也不可选择他所行的路。

32因为，乖僻人为耶和华所憎恶； 正直人为他所亲密。

33耶和华咒诅恶人的家庭， 赐福与义人的居所。

34他讥诮那好讥诮的人， 赐恩给谦卑的人。

35智慧人必承受尊荣； 愚昧人高升也成为羞辱。

Trust in the LORD with All Your Heart

1My son, do not forget my teaching,but let your heart keep my commandments;

2for they will add length to your days,years and peace to your life.

3Never let loving devotionor faithfulness leave you;bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.

4Then you will find favor and high regardin the sight of God and man.

5Trust in the LORD with all your heart,and lean not on your own understanding;

6in all your ways acknowledge Him,and He will make your paths straight.

7Be not wise in your own eyes;fear the LORD and turn away from evil.

8This will bring healing to your bodyand refreshmentto your bones.

9Honor the LORD with your wealthand with the firstfruits of all your crops;

10then your barns will be filled with plenty,and your vats will overflow with new wine.

11My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD,and do not loathe His rebuke;

12for the LORD disciplines the one He loves,as does a father the son in whom he delights.

The Blessings of Wisdom

13Blessed is the man who finds wisdom,the man who acquires understanding,

14for she is more profitable than silver,and her gain is better than fine gold.

15She is more precious than rubies;nothing you desire compares with her.

16Long life is in her right hand;in her left hand are riches and honor.

17All her ways are pleasant,and all her paths are peaceful.

18She is a tree of life to those who embrace her,and those who lay hold of her are blessed.

19The LORD founded the earth by wisdomand established the heavens by understanding.

20By His knowledge the watery depths were broken open,and the clouds dripped with dew.

21My son, do not lose sight of this:Preserve sound judgment and discernment.

22They will be life to your souland adornment to your neck.

23Then you will go on your way in safety,and your foot will not stumble.

24When you lie down, you will not be afraid;when you rest, your sleep will be sweet.

25Do not fear sudden dangeror the ruin that overtakes the wicked,

26for the LORD will be your confidenceand will keep your foot from the snare.

27Do not withhold good from the deservingwhen it is within your power to act.

28Do not tell your neighbor,“Come back tomorrow and I will provide”— when you already have the means.

29Do not devise evil against your neighbor,for he trustfully dwells beside you.

30Do not accuse a man without cause,when he has done you no harm.

31Do not envy a violent manor choose any of his ways;

32for the LORD detests the perverse,but He is a friend to the upright.

33The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked,but He blesses the home of the righteous.

34He mocks the mockers,but gives grace to the humble.

35The wise will inherit honor,but fools are held up to shame.
