Psalms

For the Chief Musician. Maschil of David; when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech.

1Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? The lovingkindness of God endureth continually.

2Thy tongue deviseth very wickedness, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

3Thou lovest evil more than good, And lying rather than to speak righteousness. [Selah

4Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

5God will likewise destroy thee for ever; He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, And root thee out of the land of the living. [Selah

6The righteous also shall see it, and fear, And shall laugh at him, saying,

7Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.

8But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I trust in the lovingkindness of God for ever and ever.

9I will give thee thanks for ever, because thou hast done it; And I will hope in thy name, for it is good, in the presence of thy saints.

1Hỡi người mạnh dạn, sao ngươi tự khoe về sự dữ? Sự nhân từ của Đức Chúa Trời còn mãi mãi.

2Lưỡi ngươi toan sự tà ác và làm điều giả dối, Khác nào dao-cạo bén.

3Ngươi chuộng điều dữ hơn là điều lành, Thích sự nói dối hơn là nói sự công bình.

4Hỡi lưỡi dối trá, Ngươi ưa mến các lời tàn hại.

5Đức Chúa Trời cũng sẽ phá hại ngươi đời đời; Ngài sẽ bắt ngươi, rứt ngươi khỏi trại ngươi, Và nhổ ngươi khỏi đất kẻ sống.

6Người công bình sẽ thấy, bèn bắt sợ, Và cười người, mà rằng:

7Kìa, là người không nhờ Đức Chúa Trời làm sức lực mình, Song nhờ cậy nơi sự giàu có hiếm hiệm mình. Làm cho mình vững bền trong sự ác mình!

8Còn tôi khác nào cây ô-li-ve xanh tươi trong nhà Đức Chúa Trời; Tôi nhờ cậy nơi lòng nhân từ của Đức Chúa Trời đến đời đời vô cùng.

9Tôi sẽ cảm tạ Chúa đời đời, vì Ngài đã làm việc đó: Tôi sẽ trông cậy nơi danh Chúa Trước mặt các người thánh của Chúa, vì điều đó là tốt lành.
