Genesis

1And Jehovah saith to Noah, 'Come in, thou and all thy house, unto the ark, for thee I have seen righteous before Me in this generation;

2of all the clean beasts thou dost take to thee seven pairs, a male and its female; and of the beasts which are not clean two, a male and its female;

3also, of fowl of the heavens seven pairs, a male and a female, to keep alive seed on the face of all the earth;

4for after other seven days I am sending rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and have wiped away all the substance that I have made from off the face of the ground.'

5And Noah doth according to all that Jehovah hath commanded him:

6and Noah [is] a son of six hundred years, and the deluge of waters hath been upon the earth.

7And Noah goeth in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, unto the ark, from the presence of the waters of the deluge;

8of the clean beasts and of the beasts that [are] not clean, and of the fowl, and of every thing that is creeping upon the ground,

9two by two they have come in unto Noah, unto the ark, a male and a female, as God hath commanded Noah.

10And it cometh to pass, after the seventh of the days, that waters of the deluge have been on the earth.

11In the six hundredth year of the life of Noah, in the second month, in the seventeenth day of the month, in this day have been broken up all fountains of the great deep, and the net-work of the heavens hath been opened,

12and the shower is on the earth forty days and forty nights.

13In this self-same day went in Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, sons of Noah, and Noah's wife and the three wives of his sons with them, unto the ark;

14they, and every living creature after its kind, and every beast after its kind, and every creeping thing that is creeping on the earth after its kind, and every fowl after its kind, every bird — every wing.

15And they come in unto Noah, unto the ark, two by two of all the flesh in which [is] a living spirit;

16and they that are coming in, male and female of all flesh, have come in as God hath commanded him, and Jehovah doth close [it] for him.

17And the deluge is forty days on the earth, and the waters multiply, and lift up the ark, and it is raised up from off the earth;

18and the waters are mighty, and multiply exceedingly upon the earth; and the ark goeth on the face of the waters.

19And the waters have been very very mighty on the earth, and covered are all the high mountains which [are] under the whole heavens;

20fifteen cubits upwards have the waters become mighty, and the mountains are covered;

21and expire doth all flesh that is moving on the earth, among fowl, and among cattle, and among beasts, and among all the teeming things which are teeming on the earth, and all mankind;

22all in whose nostrils [is] breath of a living spirit — of all that [is] in the dry land — have died.

23And wiped away is all the substance that is on the face of the ground, from man unto beast, unto creeping thing, and unto fowl of the heavens; yea, they are wiped away from the earth, and only Noah is left, and those who [are] with him in the ark;

24and the waters are mighty on the earth a hundred and fifty days.

1Poi il Signore disse a Noè: Entra tu, e tutta la tua famiglia dentro l'Arca; perciocchè in questa età io ti ho veduto giusto davanti a me.

2Di ciascuna specie di animali mondi, prendine sette paia, maschio e femmina; e degli animali immondi, un paio, un maschio e la sua femmina.

3Degli uccelli del cielo, prendine parimente di ciascuna specie sette paia, maschio e femmina; per conservarne in vita la generazione sopra la terra.

4Perciocchè fra qui e sette dì, io farò piovere in su la terra per lo spazio di quaranta giorni e di quaranta notti, e sterminerò d'in su la terra ogni cosa sussistente che io ho fatta.

5E Noè fece secondo tutto ciò che il Signore gli avea comandato.

6Or Noè era di età di seicent'anni, quando il diluvio fu, e le acque vennero sopra la terra.

7E Noè, insieme co' suoi figliuoli, e con la sua moglie, e con le mogli de' suoi figliuoli, entrò nell'Arca d'innanzi alle acque del diluvio.

8Degli animali mondi, e degli animali immondi, e degli uccelli, e di tutto ciò che serpe in su la terra,

9ne vennero delle paia, maschio e femmina, a Noè, dentro l'Arca; come Iddio avea comandato a Noè.

10Ed avvenne, al termine de' sette giorni, che le acque del diluvio vennero sopra la terra.

11L'anno seicentesimo della vita di Noè, nel secondo mese, nel decimosettimo giorno del mese, in quel giorno tutte le fonti del grande abisso scoppiarono, e le cateratte del cielo furono aperte.

12E la pioggia fu in su la terra, per lo spazio di quaranta giorni e di quaranta notti.

13In quel giorno stesso Noè entrò nell'Arca, insieme con Sem, Cam e Iafet, suoi figliuoli, e con la sua moglie, e con le tre mogli de' suoi figliuoli.

14Essi vi entrarono, ed anche fiere de ogni specie, ed animali domestici di ogni specie, e rettili che serpono sopra la terra di ogni specie, ed uccelli di ogni specie, ed uccelletti di ogni sorta di qualunque ala.

15In somma, di ogni carne, in cui è alito di vita, ne venne un paio a Noè dentro l'Arca.

16E gli animali che vennero erano maschio e femmina, come Iddio avea comandato a Noè. Poi il Signore serrò l'Arca sopra esso.

17E il diluvio venne sopra la terra, per lo spazio di quaranta giorni; e le acque crebbero, e sollevarono l'Arca, ed ella fu alzata d'in su la terra.

18E le acque si rinforzarono, e crebbero grandemente sopra la terra; e l'Arca notava sopra le acque.

19E le acque si rinforzarono grandissimamente sopra la terra; e tutti gli alti monti, che son sotto tutti i cieli, furono coperti.

20Le acque avanzarono essi monti, dell'altezza di quindici cubiti. Così i monti furono coperti.

21Ed ogni carne che si muove sopra la terra, degli uccelli, degli animali domestici, delle fiere e di tutti i rettili che serpono sopra la terra, morì, insieme con tutti gli uomini.

22Tutto ciò che ha fiato d'alito di vita nelle sue nari, d'infra tutto ciò ch'era nell'asciutto, morì.

23E fu sterminata ogni cosa sussistente, che era sopra la faccia della terra, dagli uommi fino alle bestie, e i rettili, e gli uccelli del cielo; furono, dico, sterminati d'in su la terra; e Noè solo scampò, con quelli ch'erano con lui nell'Arca.

24E le acque furono alte sopra la terra, per lo spazio di cencinquanta giorni.
