Leviticus

1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

2“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘When a man consecrates a person to the LORD in a vow, according to your valuation,

3your valuation of a male from twenty years old to sixty years old shall be fifty shekels of silver, according to the shekelof the sanctuary.

4If she is a female, then your valuation shall be thirty shekels.

5If the person is from five years old to twenty years old, then your valuation shall be for a male twenty shekels, and for a female ten shekels.

6If the person is from a month old to five years old, then your valuation shall be for a male five shekels of silver, and for a female your valuation shall be three shekels of silver.

7If the person is from sixty years old and upward; if he is a male, then your valuation shall be fifteen shekels, and for a female ten shekels.

8But if he is poorer than your valuation, then he shall be set before the priest, and the priest shall assign a value to him. The priest shall assign a value according to his ability to pay.

9“‘If it is an animal of which men offer an offering to the LORD, all that any man gives of such to the LORD becomes holy.

10He shall not alter it, nor exchange it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good. If he shall at all exchange animal for animal, then both it and that for which it is exchanged shall be holy.

11If it is any unclean animal, of which they do not offer as an offering to the LORD, then he shall set the animal before the priest;

12and the priest shall evaluate it, whether it is good or bad. As the priest evaluates it, so it shall be.

13But if he will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of it to its valuation.

14“‘When a man dedicates his house to be holy to the LORD, then the priest shall evaluate it, whether it is good or bad. As the priest evaluates it, so it shall stand.

15If he who dedicates it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall be his.

16“‘If a man dedicates to the LORD part of the field of his possession, then your valuation shall be according to the seed for it. The sowing of a homerof barley shall be valued at fifty shekelsof silver.

17If he dedicates his field from the Year of Jubilee, according to your valuation it shall stand.

18But if he dedicates his field after the Jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money according to the years that remain to the Year of Jubilee; and an abatement shall be made from your valuation.

19If he who dedicated the field will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall remain his.

20If he will not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more;

21but the field, when it goes out in the Jubilee, shall be holy to the LORD, as a devoted field. It shall be owned by the priests.

22“‘If he dedicates a field to the LORD which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession,

23then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your valuation up to the Year of Jubilee; and he shall give your valuation on that day, as a holy thing to the LORD.

24In the Year of Jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belongs.

25All your valuations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahsto the shekel.

26“‘However the firstborn amongst animals, which belongs to the LORD as a firstborn, no man may dedicate, whether an ox or a sheep. It is the LORD’s.

27If it is an unclean animal, then he shall buy it back according to your valuation, and shall add to it the fifth part of it; or if it isn’t redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your valuation.

28“‘Notwithstanding, no devoted thing that a man devotes to the LORD of all that he has, whether of man or animal, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed. Everything that is permanently devoted is most holy to the LORD.

29“‘No one devoted to destruction, who shall be devoted from amongst men, shall be ransomed. He shall surely be put to death.

30“‘All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the LORD’s. It is holy to the LORD.

31If a man redeems anything of his tithe, he shall add a fifth part to it.

32All the tithe of the herds or the flocks, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to the LORD.

33He shall not examine whether it is good or bad, neither shall he exchange it. If he exchanges it at all, then both it and that for which it is exchanged shall be holy. It shall not be redeemed.’”

34These are the commandments which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai.

1ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê rằng :

2“Hãy nói với con cái Ít-ra-en và bảo chúng : Nếu ai muốn giữ trọn lời khấn hứa dâng một người cho ĐỨC CHÚA, thì phải định giá như sau :

3Nếu là phái nam từ hai mươi đến sáu mươi tuổi, thì phải định giá là mười lăm lượng bạc, tính theo đơn vị đo lường của thánh điện ;

4nếu là phái nữ, thì phải định giá là chín lượng ;

5từ năm đến hai mươi tuổi, thì phải định giá nam là sáu lượng, nữ là ba lượng ;

6từ một tháng đến năm tuổi, thì phải định giá nam là mười lăm chỉ bạc, nữ là chín chỉ bạc ;

7từ sáu mươi tuổi trở lên, thì phải định giá nam là bốn mươi lăm chỉ bạc, nữ là ba lượng.

8Nếu ai túng thiếu, không trả nổi giá đó, thì phải đặt nó trước mặt tư tế để tư tế định giá ; tư tế sẽ dựa vào khả năng của người khấn hứa mà định giá.

9Nếu là một con vật thuộc loại có thể dâng làm lễ tiến lên ĐỨC CHÚA, thì bất cứ con nào người ta hiến cho ĐỨC CHÚA đều là của thánh.

10Không được đổi, không được thay thế con tốt bằng con xấu, hay con xấu bằng con tốt. Nếu cứ thay thế một con vật này bằng một con khác, thì cả con vật này lẫn con vật thay thế đều là của thánh.

11Nếu là một con vật ô uế, thuộc loại không được dâng làm lễ tiến lên ĐỨC CHÚA, thì phải đặt con vật trước mặt tư tế ;

12tư tế sẽ định giá nó là tốt hay xấu, và tư tế định giá thế nào thì cứ như vậy.

13Nếu muốn chuộc lại, thì phải trả thêm một phần năm giá đã định.

14Khi một người thánh hiến nhà mình làm của thánh dâng ĐỨC CHÚA, thì tư tế sẽ định giá nhà ấy là tốt hay xấu ; tư tế định giá thế nào thì cứ y như vậy.

15Nếu người đã thánh hiến nhà muốn chuộc lại, thì sẽ phải trả thêm một phần năm giá đã định và nhà ấy sẽ là của nó.

16Nếu một người thánh hiến cho ĐỨC CHÚA một cánh đồng là sở hữu của mình, thì phải dựa vào số lượng lúa giống mà định giá : hai mươi thùng giống lúa mạch là mười lăm lượng bạc.

17Nếu nó thánh hiến cánh đồng ngay từ năm toàn xá, thì cứ theo như giá đã định.

18Nếu nó thánh hiến cánh đồng sau năm toàn xá, thì tư tế sẽ tính giá tuỳ theo số năm còn lại cho đến năm toàn xá, và có giảm bớt giá đã định.

19Nếu người đã thánh hiến cánh đồng muốn chuộc lại, thì sẽ phải trả thêm vào đó một phần năm giá đã định, và cánh đồng sẽ thuộc về nó.

20Nếu nó không chuộc lại cánh đồng nhưng bán cho người khác, thì cánh đồng không chuộc lại được nữa,

21và khi cánh đồng ra khỏi tay người mua, vào thời kỳ toàn xá, thì cánh đồng sẽ là của thánh dâng ĐỨC CHÚA, như một cánh đồng được biệt hiến ; cánh đồng sẽ thuộc quyền sở hữu của tư tế.

22Nếu nó thánh hiến cho ĐỨC CHÚA một cánh đồng nó đã mua, chứ không phải cánh đồng thuộc quyền sở hữu của nó,

23thì tư tế sẽ tính số tiền phải trả cho đến năm toàn xá, và ngay hôm đó người kia phải nộp theo giá đã định ; đó là của thánh dâng ĐỨC CHÚA.

24Đến năm toàn xá, cánh đồng sẽ lại về tay người bán, là người có quyền sở hữu đất.

25Mỗi khi định giá thì phải theo đơn vị đo lường của thánh điện : một se-ken ăn hai mươi ghê-ra.

26Con đầu lòng trong đàn gia súc, không ai được thánh hiến : vì là con đầu lòng, nó đã thuộc về ĐỨC CHÚA ; dù là bò hay chiên dê, nó thuộc về ĐỨC CHÚA.

27Nhưng nếu là loài vật ô uế, thì có thể chuộc theo giá đã định, cộng thêm một phần năm ; nếu nó không được chuộc, thì sẽ được bán theo giá đã định.

28Tuy nhiên, trong những cái thuộc về một người –như người, gia súc hay cánh đồng là sở hữu của nó– bất cứ cái gì nó đã biệt hiến dâng ĐỨC CHÚA làm của biệt hiến, thì không được bán, cũng không được chuộc. Mọi của biệt hiến là của rất thánh, nó thuộc về ĐỨC CHÚA.

29Của biệt hiến mà là một người biệt hiến, thì không thể được chuộc : nó phải bị xử tử.

30Mọi thuế thập phân đánh vào đất, trích từ sản phẩm của đất và từ hoa trái của cây cối, đều thuộc về ĐỨC CHÚA : đó là của thánh dâng ĐỨC CHÚA.

31Nếu người nào muốn chuộc một phần thuế thập phân, thì phải trả thêm một phần năm.

32Mọi thuế thập phân đánh vào bò và chiên dê, tức là một phần mười của mọi vật đi qua dưới cây gậy người chăn, đều là của rất thánh dâng ĐỨC CHÚA.

33Không được tìm xem con nào tốt hay xấu và không được thay thế ; nếu cứ thay thế, thì con vật ấy và con vật thay thế sẽ là của rất thánh, không thể được chuộc lại.”

34Đó là những mệnh lệnh ĐỨC CHÚA đã truyền cho ông Mô-sê nói lại cho con cái Ít-ra-en, trên núi Xi-nai.
