2 Chronicles

1Thus all the work that Solomon did for the LORD’s house was finished. Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, even the silver, the gold, and all the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of God’s house.

2Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD’s covenant out of David’s city, which is Zion.

3So all the men of Israel assembled themselves to the king at the feast, which was in the seventh month.

4All the elders of Israel came. The Levites took up the ark.

5They brought up the ark, the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent. The Levitical priests brought these up.

6King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled to him were before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.

7The priests brought in the ark of the LORD’s covenant to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

8For the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.

9The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the ark in front of the inner sanctuary, but they were not seen outside; and it is there to this day.

10There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

11When the priests had come out of the holy place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, and didn’t keep their divisions;

12also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, even Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and their brothers, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals and stringed instruments and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets);

13when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying,“For he is good,for his loving kindness endures forever!”then the house was filled with a cloud, even the LORD’s house,

14so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the LORD’s glory filled God’s house.

1Thế là hoàn thành toàn bộ công trình Đền Thờ của ĐỨC CHÚA do vua Sa-lô-môn thực hiện. Vua Sa-lô-môn đưa vào đó các vật thánh mà vua Đa-vít, thân phụ ông đã dâng : bạc, vàng, các vật dụng : vua đặt các vật ấy trong kho Nhà Thiên Chúa.

2Bấy giờ vua Sa-lô-môn triệu tập về Giê-ru-sa-lem các kỳ mục Ít-ra-en, tất cả các người đứng đầu các chi tộc cùng các trưởng tộc con cái Ít-ra-en để đưa Hòm Bia Giao Ước của ĐỨC CHÚA lên từ Thành vua Đa-vít tức là Xi-on.

3Mọi người Ít-ra-en tập hợp lại bên nhà vua để mừng lễ. Đó là tháng thứ bảy.

4Tất cả các kỳ mục Ít-ra-en đều tới ; các thầy Lê-vi thì khiêng Hòm Bia,

5và đưa Hòm Bia cũng như Lều Hội Ngộ và tất cả các vật dụng thánh trong Lều lên. Các tư tế và các thầy Lê-vi đưa những thứ ấy lên.

6Vua Sa-lô-môn và toàn thể cộng đồng Ít-ra-en tụ họp lại bên cạnh vua trước Hòm Bia, sát tế chiên bò nhiều vô kể không sao đếm nổi.

7Các tư tế đưa Hòm Bia Giao Ước của ĐỨC CHÚA vào nơi đã dành sẵn trong cung Đơ-via của Đền Thờ, tức là Nơi Cực Thánh, dưới cánh các Kê-ru-bim.

8Quả vậy, các Kê-ru-bim xoè cánh ra bên trên Hòm Bia, che phía trên Hòm Bia và các đòn khiêng.

9Các đòn này dài đến nỗi từ Cung Thánh, trước Nơi Cực Thánh, có thể nhìn thấy các đầu đòn, nhưng từ bên ngoài thì không thấy được. Các đòn này vẫn còn đó cho tới ngày nay.

10Trong Hòm Bia không có gì ngoài hai Bia đá ông Mô-sê đã đặt vào đó, trên núi Khô-rếp, khi ĐỨC CHÚA lập Giao Ước với con cái Ít-ra-en vào thời họ ra khỏi đất Ai-cập.

11Sau đó, các tư tế ra khỏi Cung Thánh. Quả thật, tất cả các tư tế có mặt đều đã được thánh hoá, không theo thứ tự ban nhóm.

12Các thầy Lê-vi làm ca viên có mặt đầy đủ : A-xáp, Hê-man, Giơ-đu-thun, cùng với con cháu và anh em của họ. Họ mặc trúc bâu, mang não bạt, đàn sắt, đàn cầm, đứng phía đông bàn thờ ; cùng với họ có một trăm hai mươi tư tế thổi kèn.

13Họ thổi kèn và ca hát, cùng nhau cất tiếng tung hô và ngợi khen ĐỨC CHÚA. Họ cất tiếng hát cùng với tiếng kèn, tiếng não bạt và các nhạc cụ khác, để tung hô ĐỨC CHÚA, “vì Chúa nhân từ, vì muôn ngàn đời Chúa vẫn trọn tình thương.” Vậy khi các tư tế ra khỏi Cung Thánh, thì có đám mây toả đầy Đền Thờ ĐỨC CHÚA.

14Các tư tế không thể tiếp tục thi hành nhiệm vụ được vì đám mây. Quả thật, vinh quang ĐỨC CHÚA đã tràn ngập Đền Thờ của Thiên Chúa.
