Psalms

A Psalm by Asaph.

1Surely Godis good to Israel,to those who are pure in heart.

2But as for me, my feet were almost gone.My steps had nearly slipped.

3For I was envious of the arrogant,when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4For there are no struggles in their death,but their strength is firm.

5They are free from burdens of men,neither are they plagued like other men.

6Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck.Violence covers them like a garment.

7Their eyes bulge with fat.Their minds pass the limits of conceit.

8They scoff and speak with malice.In arrogance, they threaten oppression.

9They have set their mouth in the heavens.Their tongue walks through the earth.

10Therefore their people return to them,and they drink up waters of abundance.

11They say, “How does God know?Is there knowledge in the Most High?”

12Behold, these are the wicked.Being always at ease, they increase in riches.

13Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain,and washed my hands in innocence,

14For all day long I have been plagued,and punished every morning.

15If I had said, “I will speak thus”,behold, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.

16When I tried to understand this,it was too painful for me—

17until I entered God’s sanctuary,and considered their latter end.

18Surely you set them in slippery places.You throw them down to destruction.

19How they are suddenly destroyed!They are completely swept away with terrors.

20As a dream when one wakes up,so, Lord,when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.

21For my soul was grieved.I was embittered in my heart.

22I was so senseless and ignorant.I was a brute beast before you.

23Nevertheless, I am continually with you.You have held my right hand.

24You will guide me with your counsel,and afterward receive me to glory.

25Whom do I have in heaven?There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.

26My flesh and my heart fails,but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

27For, behold, those who are far from you shall perish.You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to you.

28But it is good for me to come close to God.I have made the Lord GODmy refuge, that I may tell of all your works.

1Đức Chúa Trời thật nhân từ với Ít-ra-ên,với những ai có lòng trong sạch.

2Nhưng riêng con, gần như đã mất niềm tin.Chân con suýt trượt ngã bao lần.

3Vì con ganh tị người kiêu ngạo,khi thấy bọn gian ác thành công.

4Lúc chết, họ không đau đớn;họ luôn luôn mạnh khỏe tráng kiện.

5Họ không bị hoạn nạn như người khác;lúc nào họ cũng tai qua nạn khỏi.

6Vì thế họ lấy kiêu ngạo làm vòng đeo cổ,lấy bạo tàn làm áo mặc.

7Tâm trí đầy mưu sâu kế độc,lòng dạ chai lì phát sinh bao tội ác!

8Họ nhạo cười, chế giễu thâm độc;kiêu căng, giăng cạm bẫy hại người.

9Miệng khoác lác chống nghịch các tầng trời,lưỡi xấc xược nói nghịch thế nhân.

10Thậm chí dân Chúa cũng về hùa,tin tất cả những lời họ nói.

11Họ bảo nhau: “Đức Chúa Trời không biết đâu?Làm sao Đấng Tối Cao hiểu hết mọi việc?”

12Những người ác bình an vô sự—cứ hanh thông, của cải gia tăng.

13Có phải con đã luyện tâm hồn tinh khiết cách vô ích?Có phải con hoài công rửa tay cho trong trắng?

14Con không được gì, chỉ suốt ngày gian nan;mỗi buổi sáng bị đớn đau hành hạ.

15Nếu con cứ than phiền trách móc,con sẽ trở nên bất trung với Ngài.

16Con cúi đầu suy nghiệm sâu xa.Nan đề ấy con không sao hiểu được!

17Cho đến khi con đi vào nơi thánh,mới chợt hiểu ra chung cuộc của người ác.

18Thật Chúa đặt họ đứng nơi trơn trợt,bỏ họ vào đáy vực hư vong.

19Trong khoảnh khắc, họ bị hủy diệt,lao mình vào hố thẳm kinh hoàng.

20Lạy Chúa, Ngài khinh dể những ý tưởng khờ dại của họnhư một người nhạo cười giấc mơ vào ban sáng.

21Khi lòng con đau buồn,tinh thần con cay đắng.

22Con trở nên ngu si, dốt nát—như thú hoang trước thánh nhan.

23Nhưng con vẫn luôn thuộc về Chúa;Chúa nắm lấy tay hữu con.

24Chúa dạy bằng lời huấn thị,để rồi đưa con vào bến vinh quang.

25Trên trời, con không có ai ngoài Chúa.Được ở với Chúa, con còn ước ao gì hơn trên đất này.

26Thân xác và tâm hồn con tàn tạ,nhưng Đức Chúa Trời là sức mạnh lòng con; Ngài là phần của con mãi mãi.

27Những ai cách xa Chúa sẽ hư vong,Chúa hủy diệt những người chối bỏ Chúa.

28Nhưng riêng con, được gần Đức Chúa Trời thật phước hạnh thay!Nhờ Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao làm nơi ẩn trú, và con sẽ thuật lại tất cả việc kỳ diệu Ngài làm.
