Nehemiah

1The princes of the people lived in Jerusalem. The rest of the people also cast lots to bring one of ten to dwell in Jerusalem, the holy city, and nine parts in the other cities.

2The people blessed all the men who willingly offered themselves to dwell in Jerusalem.

3Now these are the chiefs of the province who lived in Jerusalem; but in the cities of Judah, everyone lived in his possession in their cities—Israel, the priests, the Levites, the temple servants, and the children of Solomon’s servants.

4Some of the children of Judah and of the children of Benjamin lived in Jerusalem. Of the children of Judah: Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel, of the children of Perez;

5and Maaseiah the son of Baruch, the son of Colhozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of the Shilonite.

6All the sons of Perez who lived in Jerusalem were four hundred sixty-eight valiant men.

7These are the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah.

8After him Gabbai and Sallai, nine hundred twenty-eight.

9Joel the son of Zichri was their overseer; and Judah the son of Hassenuah was second over the city.

10Of the priests: Jedaiah the son of Joiarib, Jachin,

11Seraiah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of God’s house,

12and their brothers who did the work of the house, eight hundred twenty-two; and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah,

13and his brothers, chiefs of fathers’ households, two hundred forty-two; and Amashsai the son of Azarel, the son of Ahzai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer,

14and their brothers, mighty men of valor, one hundred twenty-eight; and their overseer was Zabdiel, the son of Haggedolim.

15Of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni;

16and Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the chiefs of the Levites, who had the oversight of the outward business of God’s house;

17and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, who was the chief to begin the thanksgiving in prayer, and Bakbukiah, the second among his brothers; and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.

18All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred eighty-four.

19Moreover the gatekeepers, Akkub, Talmon, and their brothers, who kept watch at the gates, were one hundred seventy-two.

20The residue of Israel, of the priests, and the Levites were in all the cities of Judah, everyone in his inheritance.

21But the temple servants lived in Ophel; and Ziha and Gishpa were over the temple servants.

22The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Mica, of the sons of Asaph, the singers responsible for the service of God’s house.

23For there was a commandment from the king concerning them, and a settled provision for the singers, as every day required.

24Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, was at the king’s hand in all matters concerning the people.

25As for the villages with their fields, some of the children of Judah lived in Kiriath Arba and its towns, in Dibon and its towns, in Jekabzeel and its villages,

26in Jeshua, in Moladah, Beth Pelet,

27in Hazar Shual, in Beersheba and its towns,

28in Ziklag, in Meconah and in its towns,

29in En Rimmon, in Zorah, in Jarmuth,

30Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages, Lachish and its fields, and Azekah and its towns. So they encamped from Beersheba to the valley of Hinnom.

31The children of Benjamin also lived from Geba onward, at Michmash and Aija, and at Bethel and its towns,

32at Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,

33Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim,

34Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,

35Lod, and Ono, the valley of craftsmen.

36Of the Levites, certain divisions in Judah settled in Benjamin’s territory.

1Các quan trưởng của dân sự đều ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem còn dân sự khác thì bắt thăm để cho một trong mười người của chúng đến ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, là thành thánh, và chín người kia thì ở trong các thành khác.

2Dân sự chúc phước cho các người nam nào tình nguyện ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.

3Vả, đây là những quan trưởng hàng tỉnh ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem; nhưng trong các thành Giu-đa, ai nấy đều ở trong đất mình tại trong bổn thành của mình: ấy là dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, những thầy tế lễ, người Lê-vi, người Nê-thi-nim, và con cháu của các tôi tớ Sa-lô-môn.

4Có mấy người Giu-đa và người Bên-gia-min ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Về người Giu-đa có A-tha-gia, con trai của U-xia, cháu của Xa-cha-ri, chắt của A-ma-ria, chít của Sê-pha-tia; Sê-pha-tia là con trai của Ma-ha-la-lên, thuộc về dòng dõi Phê-rết;

5lại có Ma-a-sê-gia, con trai của Ba-rúc, cháu của Côn-Hô-xê, chắt của Ha-xa-gia, chít của A-đa-gia; A-đa-gia là con trai của Giô-gia-ríp, cháu của Xa-cha-ri về dòng dõi Si-lô-ni.

6Các con cháu của Phê-rết ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem là bốn trăm sáu mươi tám người mạnh dạn.

7Về người Bên-gia-min có Sa-lu, con trai của Mê-su-lam, cháu của Giô-ết, chắt của Phê-đa-gia, chít của Cô-la-gia; Cô-la-gia là con trai của Ma-a-sê-gia, cháu của Y-thi-ên, chắt của Ê-sai;

8và sau người có Gáp-bai, và Sa-lai cùng chín trăm hai mươi tám người.

9Giô-ên, con trai của Xiếc-ri, làm quan trưởng của chúng; còn Giu-đa, con trai của Ha-sê-nua, làm phó quản thành.

10Trong những thầy tế lễ có Giê-đa-gia, con trai của Giô-gia-ríp, Gia-kin,

11và Sê-ra-gia, con trai của Hinh-kia, cháu của Mê-su-lam, chắt của Xa-đốc, chít của Mê-ra-giốt; Mê-ra-giốt là con trai của A-hi-túp, là quản lý đền của Đức Chúa Trời,

12cùng các anh em họ làm công việc của đền, là tám trăm hai mươi hai người. Lại có A-đa-gia, con trai của Giê-rô-ham, cháu của Phê-la-lia, chắt của Am-si, chít của Xa-cha-ri; Xa-cha-ri là con trai của Pha-su-rơ, cháu của Manh-ki-gia,

13cùng các anh em họ, đều là trưởng tộc, số là hai trăm bốn mươi hai người. Cũng có A-ma-sai, con trai của A-xa-rên, cháu của Aïc-xai, chắt của Mê-si-lê-mốt, chít của Y-mê,

14và các anh em họ, đều là người mạnh dạn và can đảm, số được một trăm hai mươi tám người. Xáp-đi-ên, con trai của Ghê-đô-lim, làm quan trưởng của chúng.

15Trong người Lê-vi có Sê-ma-gia, con trai của Ha-súp, cháu của A-ri-kham, chắt của Ha-sa-bia, chít của Bun-ni;

16trong các trưởng tộc người Lê-vi có Sa-bê-thai và Giô-xa-bát được cắt coi sóc công việc ngoài của đền Đức Chúa Trời;

17còn Mát-ta-nia, con trai của Mi-chê, cháu của Xáp-đi, chắt của A-sáp làm đầu về việc hát lời khen ngợi trong lúc cầu nguyện, cùng Bác-bu-kia, là người thứ nhì trong anh em mình, và Aùp-đa con trai của Sa-mua, cháu của Xáp-đi, chắt của Giê-đu-thun.

18Hết thảy người Lê-vi ở trong thành thánh, được hai trăm tám mươi bốn người.

19Những kẻ canh giữ cửa, là A-cúp, Tanh-môn, và các anh em họ, được một trăm bảy mươi hai người.

20Các người Y-sơ-ra-ên khác, những thầy tế lễ, và người Lê-vi, đều ở trong các thành của xứ Giu-đa, mỗi người trong cơ nghiệp mình.

21Người Nê-thi-nim đều ở tại Ô-phên; Xi-ha và Ghít-ba làm quan trưởng của người Nê-thi-nim.

22U-xi, con trai của Ba-ni, cháu của Ha-sa-bia, chắt của Mát-ta-nia, chít của Mi-chê về dòng dõi A-sáp, là kẻ ca hát, được đặt cai tri người Lê-vi tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, lo làm công việc của đền Đức Chúa Trời.

23Vì có lịnh vua truyền về việc của chúng, và có một phần lương định cấp cho những kẻ ca hát, ngày nào cần dùng theo ngày nấy.

24Phê-tha-hia, con trai của Mê-sê-xa-bê-ên, về dòng Xê-ra, là con của Giu-đa, giúp vua cai trị mọi việc dân.

25Còn về các hương thôn và đồng ruộng của nó, có mấy người Giu-đa ở tại Ki-ri-át-A-ra-ba, và trong các làng nó, tại Đi-bôn và các làng nó, tại Giê-cáp-xê-ên và các làng nó,

26tại Giê-sua, Mô-la-đa, Bết-phê-lê,

27Hát-sa-Su-anh, Bê-e-sê-ba và trong các làng nó,

28tại Xiếc-lạc, Mê-cô-na và trong các làng nó,

29tại Eân-rim-môn, Xô-ra Giạt-mút,

30tại Xa-nô-a, A-đu-lam và các làng nó; tại trong La-ki và các đồng ruộng nó, trong A-sê-ca và các làng nó. Vậy chúng ở từ Bê-e-sê-ba cho đến trũng Hin-nôm.

31Người Bên-gia-min cũng ở từ Ghê-ba cho đến Mích-ma, A-gia, Bê-tên và các làng nó;

32và ở tại A-na-tốt, Nóp, A-na-nia,

33Hát-so, Ra-ma, Ghi-tha-im,

34Ha-đít, Sê-bô-im, Nê-ba-lát,

35Lô-đơ, và Ô-nơ, tức là trũng của các thợ.

36Từ trong các người Lê-vi có mấy ban ở Giu-đa hiệp với Bên-gia-min.
