Ephesians

1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

2“Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise:

3“that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.”

4You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

5Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ,

6not in the way of service only when eyes are on you, as men pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,

7with good will doing service as to the Lord and not to men,

8knowing that whatever good thing each one does, he will receive the same good again from the Lord, whether he is bound or free.

9You masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with him.

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

13Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

15and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace,

16above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.

17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the wordof God;

18with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints.

19Pray for me, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News,

20for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

21But that you also may know my affairs, how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will make known to you all things.

22I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know our state and that he may comfort your hearts.

23Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

24Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Amen.

Cha Mẹ và Con Cái

1Con cái phải vâng lời cha mẹ trong Chúa, đó là điều phải.

2“Phải hiếu kính cha mẹ,” là điều răn đầu tiên có kèm theo lời hứa:

3Nếu con cái hiếu kính cha mẹ thì “nhờ đó con mới được phước và sống lâu trên đất.”

4Cha mẹ không nên chọc giận con cái, nhưng phải nuôi nấng, sửa trị, dạy dỗ chúng theo đường lối Chúa.

Đầy Tớ và Chủ

5Đầy tớ phải vâng lời chủ, thành thật kính sợ vâng phục chủ như vâng phục Chúa Cứu Thế.

6Không phải chỉ lo làm vừa lòng chủ khi có mặt, nhưng luôn cố gắng phục vụ chủ như phục vụ Chúa Cứu Thế, hết lòng làm theo ý muốn Đức Chúa Trời.

7Phải tận tâm phục vụ như đầy tớ của Chúa, chứ không phải của người ta.

8Nên nhớ Chúa sẽ tưởng thưởng mọi người tùy theo việc tốt lành họ làm, vô luận đầy tớ hay chủ.

9Người chủ cũng phải đối xử với đầy tớ cách ngay thẳng chính đáng như thế, không được dọa nạt. Nên nhớ anh chị em và họ đều có chung một Chủ trên trời là Chúa Cứu Thế, và Ngài chẳng thiên vị ai.

Khí Giới của Đức Chúa Trời

10Sau hết, anh chị em phải mạnh mẽ trong Chúa nhờ năng lực kiên cường của Ngài.

11Hãy trang bị đầy đủ khí giới của Đức Chúa Trời để có thể đứng vững đối phó với mọi mưu kế của quỷ vương.

12Vì chúng ta không chiến đấu chống người trần gian nhưng chống lại quyền lực vô hình đang thống trị thế giới tối tăm này và chống các tà linh trên trời.

13Vậy hãy mặc toàn bộ áo giáp của Đức Chúa Trời, để anh chị em có thể chiến đấu lúc bị tiến công, và khi chiến cuộc đã qua, anh chị em là người toàn thắng.

14Muốn được như thế anh chị em phải nai nịt lưng bằng chân lý, mặc sự công chính làm giáp che ngực.

15Mang giày sẵn sàng từ Phúc Âm hòa bình.

16Luôn luôn dùng thuẫn đức tin để gạt đỡ mọi tên lửa của Sa-tan.

17Đội nón sắt cứu rỗi, cầm bảo kiếm của Thánh Linh là Lời Đức Chúa Trời.

18Phải luôn luôn cầu nguyện trong mọi trường hợp, nài xin mọi điều theo sự hướng dẫn của Chúa Thánh Linh. Phải cảnh giác và kiên nhẫn cầu thay cho tất cả tín hữu.

19Cũng cầu nguyện cho tôi có lời của Chúa mỗi khi mở miệng, để tôi dạn dĩ công bố huyền nhiệm của Phúc Âm.

20Chính vì Phúc Âm mà tôi làm sứ thần trong lao tù, nhưng hãy cầu xin Chúa cho tôi cứ bạo dạn công bố Phúc Âm dù phải bị xiềng xích tù đày.

Lời Từ Biệt

21Ty-chi-cơ, anh yêu dấu của chúng ta, đầy tớ trung thành của Chúa, sẽ tường thuật mọi việc cho anh chị em, để anh chị em biết rõ tình trạng và hoạt động của chúng tôi.

22Tôi cử anh ấy đến thăm anh chị em để biết rõ tình trạng anh chị em hiện nay và an ủi khích lệ anh chị em.

23Cầu xin Đức Chúa Trời là Cha và Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu ban cho anh chị em sự bình an, tình yêu thương và đức tin.

24Cầu xin ân sủng ở với tất cả những người yêu mến Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu với tình yêu bất diệt.
