1 Chronicles

1So all Israel were listed by genealogies; and behold,they are written in the book of the kings of Israel. Judah was carried away captive to Babylon for their disobedience.

2Now the first inhabitants who lived in their possessions in their cities were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the temple servants.

3In Jerusalem, there lived of the children of Judah, of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim and Manasseh:

4Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Perez the son of Judah.

5Of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn and his sons.

6Of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel and their brothers, six hundred ninety.

7Of the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah;

8and Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri; and Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;

9and their brothers, according to their generations, nine hundred fifty-six. All these men were heads of fathers’ households by their fathers’ houses.

10Of the priests: Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, Jachin,

11and Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of God’s house;

12and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah; and Maasai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;

13and their brothers, heads of their fathers’ houses, one thousand seven hundred sixty; they were very able men for the work of the service of God’s house.

14Of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;

15and Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph,

16and Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.

17The gatekeepers: Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their brothers (Shallum was the chief),

18who previously served in the king’s gate eastward. They were the gatekeepers for the camp of the children of Levi.

19Shallum was the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brothers, of his father’s house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent. Their fathers had been over the LORD’s camp, keepers of the entry.

20Phinehas the son of Eleazar was ruler over them in time past, and the LORD was with him.

21Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was gatekeeper of the door of the Tent of Meeting.

22All these who were chosen to be gatekeepers in the thresholds were two hundred twelve. These were listed by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer ordained in their office of trust.

23So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the LORD’s house, even the house of the tent, as guards.

24On the four sides were the gatekeepers, toward the east, west, north, and south.

25Their brothers, in their villages, were to come in every seven days from time to time to be with them,

26for the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the rooms and over the treasuries in God’s house.

27They stayed around God’s house, because that was their duty; and it was their duty to open it morning by morning.

28Certain of them were in charge of the vessels of service, for these were brought in by count, and these were taken out by count.

29Some of them also were appointed over the furniture, and over all the vessels of the sanctuary, over the fine flour, the wine, the oil, the frankincense, and the spices.

30Some of the sons of the priests prepared the mixing of the spices.

31Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the office of trust over the things that were baked in pans.

32Some of their brothers, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the show bread, to prepare it every Sabbath.

33These are the singers, heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, who lived in the rooms and were free from other service, for they were employed in their work day and night.

34These were heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, throughout their generations, chief men. They lived at Jerusalem.

35Jeiel the father of Gibeon, whose wife’s name was Maacah, lived in Gibeon.

36His firstborn son was Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,

37Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.

38Mikloth became the father of Shimeam. They also lived with their relatives in Jerusalem, near their relatives.

39Ner became the father of Kish. Kish became the father of Saul. Saul became the father of Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab, and Eshbaal.

40The son of Jonathan was Merib-baal. Merib-baal became the father of Micah.

41The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.

42Ahaz became the father of Jarah. Jarah became the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri. Zimri became the father of Moza.

43Moza became the father of Binea, Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, and Azel his son.

44Azel had six sons, whose names are Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.

1Như thế, tên các con cháu Ít-ra-ên đều được ghi vào gia phả, và gia phả lại được ghi vào Sách Các Vua Ít-ra-ên. Người Lưu Đày Hồi Hương Người Giu-đa bị đày sang Ba-by-lôn vì họ không trung thành với Đức Chúa Trời.

2Những người đầu tiên trở về sinh sống trong đất mình là một số thường dân Ít-ra-ên, cùng với một số thầy tế lễ, người Lê-vi và những người phục dịch Đền Thờ.

3Cũng có một số người thuộc các đại tộc Giu-đa, Bên-gia-min, Ép-ra-im, và Ma-na-se trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem.

4Trong số những người ấy có U-thai, con A-mi-hút, cháu Ôm-ri, chắt Im-ri, chít Ba-ni, thuộc tộc Phê-rết, con Giu-đa.

5Một số khác trở về từ họ Si-lô, gồm A-sa-gia (con trưởng) và các con.

6Con cháu Xê-rách, gồm có Giê-u-ên và những người khác, cộng được 690 người từ đại tộc Giu-đa trở về.

7Những người thuộc đại tộc Bên-gia-min có Sa-lu, con Mê-su-lam, cháu Hô-đa-via, chắt A-sê-nu-a,

8Gíp-ni-gia, con Giê-rô-ham; Ê-la, con U-xi, cháu Mi-cơ-ri; Mê-su-lam, con Sê-pha-tia, cháu Rê-u-ên, chắt Gíp-ni-gia.

9Những người ấy đều làm trưởng họ. Có tất cả 956 người từ đại tộc Bên-gia-min trở về.

Các Thầy Tế Lễ Hồi Hương

10Trong số các thầy tế lễ bị lưu đày nay được hồi hương gồm có Giê-đa-gia, Giê-hô-gia-ríp, Gia-kin,

11và A-xa-ria, con Hinh-kia, cháu Mê-su-lam, chắt Xa-đốc, chút Mê-ra-giốt con A-hi-túp, là cai quản thầy tế lễ của nhà Đức Chúa Trời.

12Cũng có A-đa-gia, con Giê-rô-ham, cháu Pha-sua, chắt Manh-ki-gia, và Mê-ê-sai, con A-đi-ên, cháu Gia-xê-ra; chắt Mê-su-lam, chít Mê-si-lê-mít, chút Y-mê.

13Những người thân thuộc của các thầy tế lễ ấy làm trưởng họ, và những người khác, đều có khả năng phục vụ trong nhà Đức Chúa Trời, tổng số 1.760 người.

Người Lê-vi Hồi Hương

14Trong số những người Lê-vi trở về cố hương có Sê-ma-gia, con Ha-súp, cháu A-ri-kham, chắt Ha-sa-bia, thuộc dòng Mê-ra-ri;

15Bát-ba-cát; Hê-re; Ga-la; Mát-ta-nia là con Mai-ca, cháu Xiếc-ri, chắt A-sáp;

16Ô-ba-đia là con Sê-ma-gia, cháu Ga-la, chắt Giê-đu-thun; và Bê-rê-kia là con A-sa, cháu Ên-ca-na, họ ở sinh sống trong đất của người Nê-tô-pha-tít.

17Những người canh cổng gồm có Sa-lum (trưởng ban), A-cúp, Tanh-môn, A-hi-man, và những người thân thuộc của họ.

18Những người này phụ trách cửa đông của hoàng cung. Trước kia, họ canh cổng trại người Lê-vi.

19Sa-lum là con của Cô-rê, cháu Ê-bi-a-sáp, chắt Cô-ra. Những người thân thuộc của ông trong dòng Cô-ra đều lo việc canh cổng ra vào nơi thánh, cũng như tổ tiên họ trước kia canh cổng Đền Tạm trong trại của Chúa Hằng Hữu.

20Phi-nê-a, con Ê-lê-a-sa, là người đầu tiên trông coi việc này, và ông được Chúa Hằng Hữu ở cùng.

21Kế đến, có Xa-cha-ri, con Mê-sê-lê-mia, chịu trách nhiệm việc canh cổng Đền Tạm.

22Lúc ấy, số người canh gác lên đến 212 người. Tên họ được ghi vào gia phả theo từng hương thôn, nơi họ cư trú. Họ được Đa-vít và Tiên triSa-mu-ên chỉ định làm chức vụ.

23Và như thế, họ chịu trách nhiệm coi giữ các cửa nhà Chúa Hằng Hữu, cha truyền con nối.

24Họ canh gác bốn phía đền thờ, đông, tây, nam, và bắc.

25Anh em của họ trong làng thỉnh thoảng được phân công đến cộng tác với họ, theo từng phiên bảy ngày một.

26Bốn người đứng đầu của họ, đều là người Lê-vi, còn có trách nhiệm canh giữ các phòng ốc và kho tàng nhà của Đức Chúa Trời.

27Vì có trách nhiệm nặng nề như thế, nên họ phải cư trú ngay bên ngoài nhà của Đức Chúa Trời và phải mở cổng mỗi buổi sáng.

28Một số người có trách nhiệm giữ gìn các dụng cụ trong nơi thánh; họ phải kiểm kê mỗi khi các dụng cụ được mang ra dùng, rồi cất vào kho.

29Người khác có trách nhiệm giữ gìn bàn ghế, dụng cụ thánh, bột mịn, rượu, dầu, nhũ hương và hương liệu.

30Việc pha chế hương liệu là công việc của các thầy tế lễ.

31Ma-ti-thia, con trưởng của Sa-lum, dòng Cô-rê, người Lê-vi, lo việc làm bánh dẹp.

32Có mấy người khác thuộc dòng Kê-hát phụ trách việc làm bánh thánh cho mỗi ngày Sa-bát.

33Những người giữ nhiệm vụ ca hát đều là các trưởng họ trong đại tộc Lê-vi, họ sống tại Đền Thờ. Họ thi hành chức vụ ngày cũng như đêm, nên được miễn các công việc khác.

34Tất cả những người này đều ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Họ là người đứng đầu dòng Lê-vi và được ghi vào gia phả.

Gia Phả của Vua Sau-lơ

35Giê-i-ên (ông tổ của dân thành Ga-ba-ôn) có vợ là bà Ma-a-ca.

36Các con họ là Áp-đôn (con trưởng), Xu-rơ, Kích, Ba-anh, Nê-rơ, Na-đáp,

37Ghê-đô, A-hi-ô, Xa-cha-ri, và Mích-lô.

38Mích-lô sinh Si-mê-am sống gần anh em họ hàng tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.

39Nê-rơ sinh Kích. Kích sinh Sau-lơ. Các con Sau-lơ là Giô-na-than, Manh-ki-sua, A-bi-na-đáp, và Ếch-ba-anh.

40Giô-na-than sinh Mê-ri Ba-anh. Mê-ri-ba-anh sinh Mi-ca.

41Các con Mi-ca là Phi-thôn, Mê-léc, Ta-rê-a, và A-cha.

42A-cha sinh Gia-ê-ra. Gia-ê-ra sinh A-lê-mết, Ách-ma-vết, và Xim-ri. Xim-ri sinh Một-sa.

43Một-sa sinh Bi-nê-a. Bi-nê-a sinh Rê-pha-gia. Rê-pha-gia sinh Ê-lê-a-sa. Ê-lê-a-sa sinh A-xên.

44A-xên có sáu con là A-ri-kham, Bốc-ru, Ích-ma-ên, Sê-a-ria, Ô-ba-đia, và Ha-nan. Những người này đều là dòng con của A-xên.
