1Chúa Hằng Hữu, Ngài ở tận nơi đâu?Khi nguy khốn sao Ngài đành giấu mặt?

2Vì kiêu ngạo, người ác hăm hở đuổi theo người bị hại.Nhưng xin cho họ sa vào mưu chước họ đã bày ra.

3Bọn người ác khoe khoang về dục vọng;theo kẻ tham lam, nguyền rủa, khinh Chúa Hằng Hữu.

4Người ác kiêu ngạo không tìm kiếm Đức Chúa Trời.Dường như họ nghĩ Đức Chúa Trời không hiện hữu.

5Vì đường lối họ thành công luôn.Họ tự cao và luật lệ Chúa quá xa xôi với họ. Họ nhạo cười tất cả kẻ thù.

6Họ tự nhủ: “Chẳng bao giờ ta bị chao đảo!Hạnh phúc luôn luôn và chẳng gặp tai ương!”

7Miệng đầy lời chửi rủa, dối trá, và đe dọa.Lưỡi họ toàn lời gây rối và độc ác.

8Họ rình rập nơi thôn làng,mai phục ám sát người vô tội. Bí mật rình mò chờ nạn nhân.

9Họ nằm yên như sư tử ngụy trang,để bắt người khốn cùng. Họ bắt được người ấy và gỡ ra khỏi lưới.

10Các nạn nhân cô thế bị chà nát;trước sức mạnh đành phải chịu đầu hàng.

11Người ác nhủ thầm: “Chúa chẳng xem việc chúng ta đâu!Ngài che mặt, chẳng bao giờ trông thấy!”

12Chúa Hằng Hữu, xin trỗi dậy!Xin trừng phạt người ác, lạy Đức Chúa Trời! Xin đừng quên cứu giúp người khốn cùng!

13Sao để cho ác nhân phỉ báng Đức Chúa Trời?Rồi thầm nghĩ: “Chúa không bao giờ tra hỏi.”

14Nhưng lạy Chúa, Chúa thấy rõ những khó khăn sầu khổ.Xin Chúa ghi vào và hình phạt ác nhân.Nạn nhân chỉ trông chờ nơi Chúa.Vì Chúa là Đấng bênh vực người mồ côi.

15Xin bẻ gãy cánh tay người độc hại và gian ác!Và bắt chúng khai hết những hành vi bạo tàn.

16Chúa Hằng Hữu là Vua muôn đời!Các dân sẽ bị diệt khỏi nước Ngài.

17Chúa Hằng Hữu đã nghe ước nguyện người khốn khổ.Ngài lắng nghe và an ủi tâm hồn.

18Ngài bênh vực người bị áp bức và mồ côi,để những người sinh ra từ đất không còn gây sợ hãi.

The Perils of the Pilgrim

1Why, O LORD, do You stand far off?Why do You hide in times of trouble?

2In pride the wicked pursue the needy;let them be caught in the schemes they devise.

3For the wicked man boasts in the cravings of his heart;he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD.

4In his pride the wicked man does not seek Him;in all his schemes there is no God.

5He is secure in his ways at all times;Your lofty judgments are far from him; he sneers at all his foes.

6He says to himself, “I will not be moved;from age to age I am free of distress.”

7His mouth is full of cursing, deceit,and violence;trouble and malice are under his tongue.

8He lies in wait near the villages;in ambush he slays the innocent; his eyes watch in stealth for the helpless.

9He lies in wait like a lion in a thicket;he lurks to seize the oppressed; he catches the lowly in his net.

10They are crushed and beaten down;the helpless fall prey to his strength.

11He says to himself, “God has forgotten;He hides His face and never sees.”

12Arise, O LORD! Lift up Your hand, O God!Do not forget the helpless.

13Why has the wicked man renounced God?He says to himself, “You will never call me to account.”

14But You have regarded trouble and grief;You see to repay it by Your hand.The victim entrusts himself to You;You are the helper of the fatherless.

15Break the arm of the wicked and evildoer;call him to account for his wickedness until none is left to be found.

16The LORD is King forever and ever;the nations perish from His land.

17You have heard, O LORD, the desire of the humble;You will strengthen their hearts.You will incline Your ear,

18to vindicate the fatherless and oppressed,that the men of the earthmay strike terror no more.
