Ơn Chúa trong Hoạn Nạn

1Ngợi tôn Chúa Hằng Hữu! Tạ ơn Chúa Hằng Hữu, vì Ngài là thiện!Sự nhân từ Ngài còn mãi đời đời.

2Ai có thể tường thuật phép lạ Chúa Hằng Hữu làm?Ai có đủ lời tôn ngợi Chúa Hằng Hữu?

3Phước cho người giữ theo đường ngay thẳngvà luôn luôn tôn trọng phép công bằng.

4Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, xin nhớ đến con, khi Chúa làm ơn cho dân Ngài;xin Chúa thăm viếng và giải cứu con.

5Xin cho con thấy tuyển dân được hưng thịnh.Xin cho con chia sẻ niềm vui cùng dân Chúa; và cùng họ vui hưởng cơ nghiệp Ngài.

6Chúng con với tổ tiên đều mang trọng tội.Chúng con đã làm điều sai! Chúng con hành động quá độc ác!

7Khi tổ tiên chúng con ở Ai Cậpđã không quan tâm các phép lạ của Chúa Hằng Hữu.Họ không ghi tạc đức nhân ái vô biên.Nên sinh tâm phản loạn bên Biển Đỏ.

8Dù vậy, Chúa vẫn cứu họ—vì Danh Ngài và cho muôn dân nhìn nhận quyền oai Ngài.

9Chúa ra lệnh, Biển Đỏ liền khai lối,Ngài dẫn Ít-ra-ên qua đại dương như đất khô.

10Chúa cứu họ khỏi kẻ thù của họ,và chuộc tuyển dân thoát chốn oán thù.

11Nước đổ xuống nhận chìm quân địch;không còn ai sống sót quay về.

12Khi ấy dân Chúa mới tin lời Ngài hứa.Và mở miệng hát tôn vinh Ngài.

13Nhưng rồi họ quên thật nhanh những việc Ngài làm!Không chờ đợi lời Chúa răn dạy!

14Tại hoang mạc dân Chúa để dục vọng mình nổi dậy không kiềm chế,thách thức Ngài giữa chốn đồng hoang.

15Vậy, Chúa ban cho điều họ mong ước,nhưng sai bệnh tật hủy phá linh hồn.

16Trong trại quân, họ ganh ghét Môi-secùng A-rôn, thầy tế lễ thánh của Chúa Hằng Hữu;

17Vì thế, đất liền há miệng;nuốt chửng Đa-than và chôn vùi toàn trại A-bi-ram.

18Rồi lửa thiêu luôn cả bè đảng;lửa thiêng tiêu diệt bọn ác gian.

19Tại Hô-rếp, dân chúng đúc tượng thần;họ thờ lạy bò con vàng đó.

20Từ bỏ Đức Chúa Trời vinh quang hằng sống,đổi lấy hình tượng con bò, loài ăn cỏ.

21Họ quên Đức Chúa Trời, Đấng giải cứu họ,Đấng làm mọi việc vĩ đại tại Ai Cập—

22những việc diệu kỳ trong đất nước Cham,cùng những việc đáng kinh nơi Biển Đỏ.

23Chúa tỏ ý muốn tiêu diệt hết.Nhưng Môi-se, người Chúa chọn, đã đứng giữa Chúa Hằng Hữu và dân. Kêu cầu Chúa xin ngưng hình phạt hủy diệt họ.

24Dân coi thường việc vào đất hứavì không tin lời Chúa hứa.

25Thay vào đó họ oán than trong trại,không lắng tai nghe tiếng Chúa Hằng Hữu.

26Vì tội ác, Chúa đã thề nguyềncả thế hệ vùi thây nơi hoang mạc,

27và làm cho dòng dõi họ tản mác khắp nơi,bị lưu đày đến những xứ xa xôi.

28Tổ phụ chúng con cùng thờ lạy Ba-anh tại Phê-ô;họ còn ăn lễ vật dâng thần tượng!

29Họ khiêu khích Chúa Hằng Hữu qua nhiều việc,nên bệnh dịch phát khởi lan tràn.

30Cho đến lúc Phi-nê-a cầu xinChúa cho chứng bệnh nguy nan chấm dứt.

31Việc ông làm được xem là công chínhnên ông được ghi nhớ muôn đời.

32Tại Mê-ri-ba, họ chọc giận Chúa Hằng Hữu,vì họ mà Môi-se hứng chịu tai họa.

33Ông quẫn trí khi dân chúng gây rối,miệng thốt ra những lời nông nổi.

34Họ không tiêu diệt dân địa phương,theo lệnh Chúa Hằng Hữu đã phán dạy.

35Nhưng đồng hóa với các dân ấy,và bắt chước các thói tục xấu xa của họ.

36Thậm chí thờ phượng các tượng thần,ngày càng lìa xa Chúa Hằng Hữu.

37Nhẫn tâm sát hại chính con mìnhlàm lễ vật dâng cho các quỷ.

38Máu vô tội tràn lan khắp đất,giết con mình, cả gái lẫn trai.Đem dâng cho tượng thần người Ca-na-an,làm cho cả xứ bị ô uế.

39Chăm điều ác nên toàn dân nhơ nhuốc,lầm lạc tà dâm với tà thần.

40Chúa Hằng Hữu nổi giận vô cùng,và Ngài ghê tởm cơ nghiệp mình.

41Ngài phó họ cho người ngoại quốc,Ngài khiến kẻ thù cai trị họ.

42Và kẻ thù họ áp bức họ,họ cúi đầu vâng phục.

43Nhiều lần Chúa ra tay giải cứu,nhưng họ luôn phản nghịch cứng đầu, họ ngày càng chìm sâu trong biển tội.

44Dù vậy khi dân Ngài kêu la thảm thiếtChúa chợt nhìn xuống cảnh lầm than.

45Ngài nhớ lại những lời giao ước của Ngài,Ngài động lòng thương bởi đức nhân ái.

46Ngài khiến quân thù sinh lòng trắc ẩn,người nắm cường quyền cũng phải xót xa.

47Xin cứu chúng con, Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời chúng con ôi!Tụ họp chúng con từ các dân tộc,để dâng lời tạ ơn Danh Thánh Chúavà vui mừng hát ngợi khen Ngài.

48Chúc tụng Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên,Đấng đáng được tôn ngợi từ muôn đời trước đến muôn đời sau! Nguyện muôn dân đồng nói: “A-men!” Ngợi tôn Chúa Hằng Hữu!

1Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

2Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?

3Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

4Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

5That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

6We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

7Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.

8Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

9He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

10And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

11And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

12Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.

13They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

14But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

15And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

16They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.

17The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

18And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

19They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.

20Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.

21They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

22Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.

23Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

24Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:

25But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.

26Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:

27To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.

28They joined themselves also unto Baal-peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

29Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.

30Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.

31And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.

32They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

33Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

34They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:

35But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

36And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

37Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

38And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

39Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

40Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

41And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

42Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

43Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.

44Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:

45And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

46He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.

47Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.

48Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.
