Ẩn Dụ Tiệc Cưới

1Chúa Giê-xu phán thêm một ẩn dụ:

2“Nước Trời được ví như một nhà vua tổ chức tiệc cưới cho thái tử.

3Vua cho người nhắc nhở tân khách đã được mời đến dự tiệc, nhưng họ đều từ chối!

4Vua lại sai người khác giục giã: ‘Tiệc đã dọn sẵn. Bò và thú béo đã nấu xong. Mời tân khách đến dự!’

5Nhưng họ chẳng quan tâm, mỗi người cứ lo việc riêng. Người đi thăm ruộng, người đi buôn bán.

6Có người lại bắt các sứ giả hạ nhục và giết đi.

7Vua nổi giận, cho quân đội tiêu diệt bọn sát nhân và thiêu hủy thành của họ.

8Rồi vua bảo các cận thần: ‘Tiệc cưới đã dọn xong, nhưng khách được mời đều không xứng đáng.

9Vậy, cứ đi ra các đường phố lớn, gặp ai cũng mời về dự tiệc!’

10Họ đi khắp các ngã đường, đem về đủ hạng người, không phân biệt tốt xấu, nên phòng tiệc đầy dẫy tân khách ăn uống nhộn nhịp.

11Khi vua vào phòng tiệc, vua gặp một vị khách không mặc trang phục cho lễ cưới.

12Vua hỏi: ‘Này bạn, sao đã vào đây mà không mặc áo lễ?’ Nhưng người ấy không đáp lại.

13Vua truyền cho thuộc hạ: ‘Hãy trói người ấy, ném ra ngoài, vào chỗ tối tăm đầy tiếng khóc lóc và nghiến răng.’

14Vì nhiều người được mời, nhưng ít người được chọn.”

Thuế cho Sê-sa

15Các thầy Pha-ri-si họp nhau bàn mưu gài bẫy Chúa Giê-xu để có lý do bắt Ngài.

16Họ sai vài môn đệ của họ cùng đi với các đảng viên Hê-rốt đến hỏi Chúa: “Thưa Thầy, chúng tôi biết Thầy là người chân chính, lấy công tâm giảng dạy Đạo Đức Chúa Trời, không nể sợ, thiên vị ai.

17Xin Thầy cho biết: Có nên nộp thuế cho Sê-sa không?”

18Chúa Giê-xu biết rõ dụng ý họ, liền bảo: “Hạng đạo đức giả! Các ông muốn gài bẫy Ta sao?

19Đưa Ta xem một đồng bạc nộp thuế!” Khi họ đưa cho Ngài một đồng bạc La Mã,

20Chúa hỏi: “Hình và tên ai đây?”

21Họ đáp: “Sê-sa.” Chúa dạy: “Vậy, hãy nộp cho Sê-sa những gì của Sê-sa! Hãy trả lại cho Đức Chúa Trời những gì thuộc về Ngài!”

22Họ sững sờ, không biết nói gì nên rút lui ngay.

Thảo Luận về Sự Sống Lại

23Cũng ngày hôm ấy, các thầy Sa-đu-sê (chủ trương không có sự sống lại) đến hỏi Chúa:

24“Thưa Thầy, Môi-se đã dạy: ‘Nếu người đàn ông nào qua đời không có con, thì em trai người đó sẽ lấy vợ goá của anh để sinh con nối dõi cho anh.’

25Chúng tôi gặp trường hợp: Gia đình kia có bảy anh em, người anh cả cưới vợ rồi chết không con, để vợ lại cho em.

26Rồi từ người thứ hai, thứ ba, cho đến người thứ bảy, việc xảy ra giống hệt như thế.

27Sau đó, người đàn bà cũng chết.

28Đến ngày sống lại, người đàn bà ấy sẽ làm vợ ai trong bảy anh em? Vì tất cả đều đã cưới nàng.”

29Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Các ông lầm lẫn vì không hiểu Thánh Kinh, cũng chẳng hiểu quyền năng Đức Chúa Trời.

30Khi sống lại, không ai còn cưới vợ lấy chồng nữa, mọi người đều giống như thiên sứ trên trời.

31Về sự sống lại của người chết, các ông chưa đọc Lời Đức Chúa Trời phán với các ông sao? Sau nhiều năm Áp-ra-ham, Y-sác, và Gia-cốp qua đời, Đức Chúa Trời phán:

32‘Ta là Đức Chúa Trời của Áp-ra-ham, Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sác, và Đức Chúa Trời của Gia-cốp.’Ngài không phải là Đức Chúa Trời của người chết, nhưng Đức Chúa Trời của người sống.”

33Dân chúng ngạc nhiên và khâm phục các lời dạy của Chúa.

Điều Răn Quan Trọng

34Khi các thầy Pha-ri-si nghe tin Chúa khiến cho các thầy Sa-đu-sê cứng họng, họ liền họp nhau tìm cách gài bẫy Ngài.

35Một thầy Pha-ri-si làm luật gia đến chất vấn Chúa:

36“Thưa Thầy, điều răn nào quan trọng nhất trong luật pháp Môi-se?”

37Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “‘Phải yêu thương Chúa Hằng Hữu là Đức Chúa Trời ngươi với cả tấm lòng, linh hồn, và trí tuệ!’

38Đó là điều răn thứ nhất và quan trọng nhất.

39Điều răn thứ hai cũng giống như thế: ‘Yêu người lân cận như chính mình.’

40Hai điều răn ấy làm nền tảng cho tất cả luật pháp và lời tiên tri. Ai giữ hai điều răn ấy là giữ được toàn bộ luật pháp.”

Đấng Mết-si-a Là Dòng Dõi của Ai?

41Thấy các thầy Pha-ri-si vây quanh mình, Chúa Giê-xu hỏi:

42“Các ông nghĩ thế nào về Đấng Mết-si-a? Ngài là dòng dõi của ai?” Họ đáp: “Con của Đa-vít.”

43Chúa Giê-xu hỏi tiếp: “Tại sao Đa-vít được Chúa Thánh Linh cảm hứng, gọi Đấng Mết-si-a là ‘Chúa tôi’? Vì Đa-vít nói:

44‘Chúa Hằng Hữu phán cùng Chúa tôi:Hãy ngồi bên phải Ta cho đến chừng Ta đặt kẻ thù dưới gót chân Con.’

45Đa-vít đã gọi Đấng Mết-si-a là ‘Chúa tôi,’ thì sao Đấng Mết-si-a có thể là dòng dõi của Đa-vít được?”

46Các thầy Pha-ri-si không biết giải đáp thế nào. Không ai dám chất vấn Chúa nữa.

1And Jesus answered and spake again in parables unto them, saying,

2The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,

3and sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the marriage feast: and they would not come.

4Again he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them that are bidden, Behold, I have made ready my dinner; my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage feast.

5But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise;

6and the rest laid hold on his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.

7But the king was wroth; and he sent his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.

8Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they that were bidden were not worthy.

9Go ye therefore unto the partings of the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage feast.

10And those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests.

11But when the king came in to behold the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment:

12and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless.

13Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and cast him out into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

14For many are called, but few chosen.

15Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might ensnare him in his talk.

16And they send to him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one: for thou regardest not the person of men.

17Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Cæsar, or not?

18But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why make ye trial of me, ye hypocrites?

19Show me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a denarius.

20And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?

21They say unto him, Cæsar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things that are Cæsar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.

22And when they heard it, they marvelled, and left him, and went away.

23On that day there came to him Sadducees, they that say that there is no resurrection: and they asked him,

24saying, Teacher, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

25Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first married and deceased, and having no seed left his wife unto his brother;

26in like manner the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

27And after them all, the woman died.

28In the resurrection therefore whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

29But Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as angels in heaven.

31But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

32I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

33And when the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.

34But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, gathered themselves together.

35And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, trying him:

36Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?

37And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38This is the great and first commandment.

39And a second like unto it is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

40On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets.

41Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,

42saying, What think ye of the Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.

43He saith unto them, How then doth David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,

44The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I put thine enemies underneath thy feet?

45If David then calleth him Lord, how is he his son?

46And no one was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
