Dạy về Sự Tha Thứ và Đức Tin

1Một hôm, Chúa Giê-xu dạy các môn đệ: “Cạm bẫy tội lỗi không thể nào không có, nhưng khốn cho ai gài bẫy cho người khác phạm tội.

2Ai xui các em bé này phạm tội, thì thà buộc cối đá vào cổ người ấy ném xuống biển còn hơn.

3Các con phải thận trọng! Nếu anh chị em con có lỗi, hãy khiển trách; khi họ ăn năn, phải tha thứ.

4Dù người ấy có lỗi với con đến bảy lần trong một ngày, mỗi lần đều đến xin lỗi, con cũng phải tha thứ.”

5Các sứ đồ thưa với Chúa: “Xin Chúa cho chúng con có lòng tin vững mạnh!”

6Chúa đáp: “Nếu đức tin bằng hạt cải, các con có thể bảo cây dâu: ‘Hãy tự bứng lên và trồng xuống biển’ nó sẽ tuân lệnh ngay!

7Một người đầy tớ đi cày hay đi chăn về, không lẽ người chủ nói: ‘Hãy đến và ăn với ta’?

8Không, chủ nói: ‘Hãy chuẩn bị dọn ăn cho ta, phục vụ trong khi ta ăn, rồi ngươi ăn sau.’

9Chủ không cần phải cám ơn, vì đó là bổn phận đầy tớ.

10Cũng thế, khi các con vâng lời Ta, làm xong những việc Đức Chúa Trời, các con hãy nói: ‘Chúng con là đầy tớ vô dụng chỉ làm theo bổn phận của chúng con.’ ”

Mười Người Phong Hủi

11Trên đường lên Giê-ru-sa-lem, Chúa Giê-xu đến ranh giới xứ Ga-li-lê và xứ Sa-ma-ri.

12Lúc Ngài sắp vào một làng kia, mười người phong hủi đứng từ xa,

13kêu lớn: “Lạy Giê-xu, xin thương xót chúng con!”

14Khi thấy họ, Chúa phán: “Cứ đến trình diện với thầy tế lễ.”Họ vừa lên đường, bệnh phong hủi liền sạch và biến mất.

15Một người thấy mình được lành, quay lại mừng rỡ: “Tạ ơn Đức Chúa Trời, con lành bệnh rồi!”

16Anh cúi sấp mặt xuống đất nơi chân Chúa Giê-xu, tạ ơn Ngài. Người này là người Sa-ma-ri.

17Chúa Giê-xu hỏi: “Có phải Ta chữa lành mười người? Vậy, còn chín người kia đâu?

18Chỉ có người nước ngoài này trở lại tạ ơn Đức Chúa Trời sao?”

19Rồi Chúa Giê-xu phán với người ấy: “Con đứng dậy và lên đường! Đức tin con đã chữa cho con lành.”

Nước Trời Thể Hiện

20Một hôm, các thầy Pha-ri-si hỏi Chúa Giê-xu: “Khi nào Nước của Đức Chúa Trời mới thể hiện?” Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Nước của Đức Chúa Trời không thể hiện trong thế giới hữu hình này!

21Người ta không thể nói Nước của Đức Chúa Trời ở miền này hay xứ kia, vì Nước của Đức Chúa Trời ở trong lòng người.”

22Sau đó, Chúa nói với các môn đệ: “Sẽ có lúc các con mong mỏi được thấy ngày của Con Ngườitrở lại, nhưng chẳng thấy.

23Các con sẽ nghe người ta nói: ‘Kìa, Con Người ở nơi này,’ hay ‘Ngài nơi kia,’ đừng theo họ.

24Vì Con Người sẽ trở lại như chớp nhoáng xuất hiện khắp vòm trời trong nháy mắt, bất cứ nơi nào cũng thấy Con Người.

25Nhưng trước hết Con Người phải chịu thống khổ, bị thế hệ này chối bỏ.

26Ngày Con Người trở lại, thế giới vẫn giống như thời Nô-ê.

27Trong những ngày đó, người ta vẫn hưởng thụ—cưới gả, tiệc tùng cho đến khi Nô-ê vào tàu, rồi nước lụt tràn ngập tiêu diệt mọi người.

28Và thế gian sẽ giống như thời của Lót. Người ta vẫn làm những việc thường ngày của họ—ăn uống, mua bán, trồng tỉa, và xây cất—

29cho đến ngày Lót ra khỏi thành Sô-đôm. Lửa và diêm sinh từ trời trút xuống hủy diệt tất cả dân thành ấy.

30Phải, ngày Con Người trở lại cũng sẽ như thế.

31Ngày ấy, ai đang đứng ngoài hiên, đừng vào nhà góp nhặt của cải. Ai ở ngoài đồng, đừng trở về nhà.

32Phải nhớ bài học của vợ Lót!

33Ai giữ sự sống, sẽ bị mất, nếu ai mất sự sống, thì sẽ được lại.

34Đêm đó, hai người ngủ chung một giường; một người được rước đi, người kia bị bỏ lại.

35Hai người phụ nữ đang xay lúa chung một cối xay; một người được rước đi, người kia bị bỏ lại.

36Hai người đang làm ruộng ngoài đồng; một người được rước đi, người kia bị bỏ lại.”

37Các môn đệ hỏi: “Thưa Chúa, việc đó sẽ xảy ra tại đâu?” Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Xác chết nằm đâu, chim kên kên tụ họp ở đó.”

1And he said to his disciples: It is impossible that scandals should not come: but woe to him through whom they come.

2It were better for him, that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should scandalize one of these little ones.

3Take heed to yourselves. If thy brother sin against thee, reprove him: and if he do penance, forgive him.

4And if he sin against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day be converted unto thee, saying, I repent; forgive him.

5And the apostles said to the Lord: Increase our faith.

6And the Lord said: If you had faith like to a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this mulberry tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou transplanted into the sea: and it would obey you.

7But which of you having a servant ploughing, or feeding cattle, will say to him, when he is come from the field: Immediately go, sit down to meat:

8And will not rather say to him: Make ready my supper, and gird thyself, and serve me, whilst I eat and drink, and afterwards thou shalt eat and drink?

9Doth he thank that servant, for doing the things which he commanded him?

10I think not. So you also, when you shall have done all these things that are commanded you, say: We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which we ought to do.

11And it came to pass, as he was going to Jerusalem, he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

12And as he entered into a certain town, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off;

13And lifted up their voice, saying: Jesus, master, have mercy on us.

14Whom when he saw, he said: Go, shew yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass, as they went, they were made clean.

15And one of them, when he saw that he was made clean, went back, with a loud voice glorifying God.

16And he fell on his face before his feet, giving thanks: and this was a Samaritan.

17And Jesus answering, said, Were not ten made clean? and where are the nine?

18There is no one found to return and give glory to God, but this stranger.

19And he said to him: Arise, go thy way; for thy faith hath made thee whole.

20And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come? he answered them, and said: The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

21Neither shall they say: Behold here, or behold there. For lo, the kingdom of God is within you.

22And he said to his disciples: The days will come, when you shall desire to see one day of the Son of man; and you shall not see it.

23And they will say to you: See here, and see there. Go ye not after, nor follow them:

24For as the lightening that lighteneth from under heaven, shineth unto the parts that are under heaven, so shall the Son of man be in his day.

25But first he must suffer many things, and be rejected by this generation.

26And as it came to pass in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

27They did eat and drink, they married wives, and were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark: and the flood came and destroyed them all.

28Likewise as it came to pass, in the days of Lot: they did eat and drink, they bought and sold, they planted and built.

29And in the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

30Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man shall be revealed.

31In that hour, he that shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and he that shall be in the field, in like manner, let him not return back.

32Remember Lot’s wife.

33Whosoever shall seek to save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose it, shall preserve it.

34I say to you: in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

35Two women shall be grinding together: the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left: two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be keft.

36They answering, say to him: Where, Lord?

37Who said to them: Wheresoever the body shall be, thither will the eagles also be gathered together.
