Zechariah

1And the angel that spoke in me came again: and he waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.

2And he said to me: What seest thou? And I said: I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, and its lamp upon the top of it: and the seven lights thereof upon it: and seven funnels for the lights that were upon the top thereof.

3And two olive trees over it: one upon the right side of the lamp, and the other upon the left side thereof.

4And I answered, and said to the angel that spoke in me, saying: What are these things, my lord?

5And the angel that spoke in me answered, and said to me: Knowest thou not what these things are? And I said: No, my lord.

6And he answered, and spoke to me, saying: This is the word of the Lord to Zorobabel, saying: Not with an army, nor by might, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

7Who art thou, O great mountain, before Zorobabel? thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring out the chief stone, and shall give equal grace to the grace thereof.

8And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

9The hands of Zorobabel have laid the foundations of this house, and his hands shall finish it: and you shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me to you.

10For who hath despised little days? and they shall rejoice, and shall see the tin plummet in the hand of Zorobabel. These are the seven eyes of the Lord, that run to and fro through the whole earth.

11And I answered, and said to him: What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick, and upon the left side thereof?

12And I answered again, and said to him: What are the two olive branches, that are by the two golden beaks, in which are the funnels of gold?

13And he spoke to me, saying: Knowest thou not what these are? And I said: No, my lord.

14And he said: These are two sons of oil who stand before the Lord of the whole earth.

1Vị thần sứ đã nói với tôi trở lại và đánh thức tôi như đánh thức một người đang ngủ.

2Vị ấy nói với tôi : “Ngươi thấy gì ?” Tôi thưa : “Tôi thấy một trụ đèn toàn bằng vàng, trên đầu có một phao dầu. Trụ ấy có bảy ngọn đèn và trên các ngọn đèn ở đầu trụ có bảy tim đèn.

3Bên cạnh trụ đèn, có hai cây ô-liu, một ở bên phải phao dầu và một ở bên trái.”

4Tôi cất tiếng thưa với vị thần sứ đã nói với tôi : “Thưa ngài, những cái đó có nghĩa là gì ?”

5Thần sứ đã nói với tôi lên tiếng trả lời : “Chẳng lẽ ngươi không biết những thứ ấy nghĩa là gì sao ?” Tôi thưa : “Không, thưa ngài.”

6Đây là lời của ĐỨC CHÚA liên quan đến ông Dơ-rúp-ba-ven : Không phải nhờ thế lực, cũng chẳng phải nhờ sức mạnh mà nó hoàn thành công việc Ta giao phó, nhưng là nhờ thần khí của Ta, ĐỨC CHÚA các đạo binh phán.

7Ngươi là ai, hỡi núi lớn kia ? Trước mặt Dơ-rúp-ba-ven, ngươi hãy trở nên đồng bằng. Nó sẽ lấy ra viên đá chóp đỉnh giữa tiếng reo hò : “Đẹp ! Đẹp quá !”

8Có lời ĐỨC CHÚA phán với tôi rằng :

9Chính tay Dơ-rúp-ba-ven đã đặt nền móng cho Đền Thờ này và cũng chính tay nó sẽ hoàn tất. Và các người sẽ nhận biết rằng ĐỨC CHÚA các đạo binh đã phái tôi đến với các người.

10Vậy ai dám khinh thường bước khởi đầu khiêm tốn của công việc này ? Người ta sẽ hân hoan khi nhìn thấy viên đá được tuyển lựa trong tay Dơ-rúp-ba-ven.

11Bấy giờ tôi lên tiếng hỏi vị ấy : “Thưa ngài, hai cây ô-liu ở bên phải bên trái trụ đèn ấy có nghĩa là gì ?”

12Một lần nữa tôi lại lên tiếng hỏi vị ấy : “Thưa ngài, hai cành ô-liu ở bên hai ống thông dầu bằng vàng, tuôn xuống dầu vàng óng ánh có nghĩa là gì ?”

13Vị ấy trả lời tôi rằng : “Chẳng lẽ ngươi không biết những thứ ấy nghĩa là gì sao ?” Tôi thưa : “Không, thưa ngài.”

14Vị ấy bảo : “Đó là hai người được xức dầu đứng phục vụ bên Chúa Tể toàn cõi đất.”
