Romans

1Brethren, the will of my heart, indeed, and my prayer to God, is for them unto salvation.

2For I bear them witness, that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

3For they, not knowing the justice of God, and seeking to establish their own, have not submitted themselves to the justice of God.

4For the end of the law is Christ, unto justice to every one that believeth.

5For Moses wrote, that the justice which is of the law, the man that shall do it, shall live by it.

6But the justice which is of faith, speaketh thus: Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? that is, to bring Christ down;

7Or who shall descend into the deep? that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.

8But what saith the scripture? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart. This is the word of faith, which we preach.

9For if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thy heart that God hath raised him up from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10For, with the heart, we believe unto justice; but, with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

11For the scripture saith: Whosoever believeth in him, shall not be confounded.

12For there is no distinction of the Jew and the Greek: for the same is Lord over all, rich unto all that call upon him.

13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.

14How then shall they call on him, in whom they have not believed? Or how shall they believe him, of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear, without a preacher?

15And how shall they preach unless they be sent, as it is written: How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, of them that bring glad tidings of good things!

16But all do not obey the gospel. For Isaias saith: Lord, who hath believed our report?

17Faith then cometh by hearing; and hearing by the word of Christ.

18But I say: Have they not heard? Yes, verily, their sound hath gone forth into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the whole world.

19But I say: Hath not Israel known? First, Moses saith: I will provoke you to jealousy by that which is not a nation; by a foolish nation I will anger you.

20But Isaias is bold, and saith: I was found by them that did not seek me: I appeared openly to them that asked not after me.

21But to Israel he saith: All the day long have I spread my hands to a people that believeth not, and contradicteth me.

1弟兄們，我心裏所願的，向上帝所求的，是要以色列人得救。

2我可以證明，他們向上帝有熱心，但不是按着真知識；

3因為不知道上帝的義，想要立自己的義，就不服上帝的義了。

4律法的總結就是基督，使凡信他的都得着義。

求告主名的必要得救

5摩西寫着說：「人若行那出於律法的義，就必因此活着。」

6惟有出於信心的義如此說：「你不要心裏說：誰要升到天上去呢？（就是要領下基督來；）

7誰要下到陰間去呢？（就是要領基督從死裏上來。）」

8他到底怎麼說呢？他說：這道離你不遠， 正在你口裏，在你心裏－（就是我們所傳信主的道。）

9你若口裏認耶穌為主，心裏信上帝叫他從死裏復活，就必得救。

10因為，人心裏相信就可以稱義，口裏承認就可以得救。

11經上說：「凡信他的人必不至於羞愧。」

12猶太人和希臘人並沒有分別，因為眾人同有一位主；他也厚待一切求告他的人。

13因為「凡求告主名的就必得救」。

14然而，人未曾信他，怎能求他呢？未曾聽見他，怎能信他呢？沒有傳道的，怎能聽見呢？

15若沒有奉差遣，怎能傳道呢？如經上所記：「報福音、傳喜信的人，他們的腳蹤何等佳美！ 」

16只是人沒有都聽從福音，因為以賽亞說：「主啊，我們所傳的有誰信呢？」

17可見，信道是從聽道來的，聽道是從基督的話來的。

18但我說，人沒有聽見嗎？誠然聽見了。他們的聲音傳遍天下； 他們的言語傳到地極。

19我再說，以色列人不知道嗎？先有摩西說：我要用那不成子民的惹動你們的憤恨； 我要用那無知的民觸動你們的怒氣。

20又有以賽亞放膽說：沒有尋找我的，我叫他們遇見； 沒有訪問我的，我向他們顯現。

21至於以色列人，他說：「我整天伸手招呼那悖逆頂嘴的百姓。」
