Ezekiel

1Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, when I was in the midst of the captives by the river Chobar, the heavens were opened, and I saw the visions of God.

2On the fifth day of the month, the same was the fifth year of the captivity of king Joachin,

3The word of the Lord came to Ezechiel the priest the son of Bud in the land of the Chaldeans, by the river Chobar: and the hand of the Lord was there upon him.

4And I saw, and behold a whirlwind came out of the north: and a great cloud, and a fire infolding it, and brightness was about it: and out of the midst thereof, that is, out of the midst of the fire, as it were the resemblance of amber:

5And in the midst thereof the likeness of four living creatures: and this was their appearance: there was the likeness of a man in them.

6Every one had four faces, and every one four wings.

7Their feet were straight feet, and the sole of their foot was like the sole of a calf’s foot, and they sparkled like the appearance of glowing brass.

8And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides: and they bad faces, and wings on the four sides,

9And the wings of one were joined to the wings of another. They turned not when they went: but every one went straight forward.

10And as for the likeness of their faces: there was the face of a man, and the face of a lion on the right side of all the four: and the face of an ox, on the left side of all the four: and the face of an eagle over all the four.

11And their faces, and their wings were stretched upward: two wings of every one were joined, and two covered their bodies:

12And every one of them went straight forward: whither the impulse of the spirit was to go, thither they went: and they turned not when they went.

13And as for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like that of burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps. This was the vision running to and fro in the midst of the living creatures, a bright fire, and lightning going forth from the fire.

14And the living creatures ran and returned like flashes of lightning.

15Now as I beheld the living creatures, there appeared upon the earth by the living creatures one wheel with four faces.

16And the appearance of the wheels, and the work of them was like the appearance of the sea: and the four had all one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the midst of a wheel.

17When they went, they went by their four parts: and they turned not when they went.

18The wheels had also a size, and a height, and a dreadful appearance: and the whole body was full of eyes round about all the four.

19And when the living creatures went, the wheels also went together by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels also were lifted up with them.

20Whithersoever the spirit went, thither as the spirit went the wheels also were lifted up withal, and followed it: for the spirit of life was in the wheels.

21When those went these went, and when those stood these stood, and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels also were lifted up together, and followed them: for the spirit of life was in the wheels.

22And over the heads of the living creatures was the likeness of the firmament, as the appearance of crystal terrible to behold, and stretched out over their heads above.

23And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other, every one with two wings covered his body, and the other was covered in like manner.

24And I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of many waters, as it were the voice of the most high God: when they walked, it was like the voice of a multitude, like the noise of an army, and when they stood, their wings were let down.

25For when a voice came from above the firmament, that was over their heads, they stood, and let down their wings.

26And above the firmament that was over their heads, was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of the sapphire stone, and upon the likeness of the throne, was a likeness as of the appearance of a man above upon it.

27And I saw as it were the resemblance of amber as the appearance of fire within it round about: from his loins and upward, and from his loins downward, I saw as it were the resemblance of fire shining round about.

28As the appearance of the rainbow when it is in a cloud on a rainy day: this was the appearance of the brightness round about.

1Ngày mồng năm tháng tư năm thứ ba mươi, lúc tôi đang ở giữa những người lưu đày, bên bờ sông Cơ-va, thì trời mở ra và tôi nhìn thấy thị kiến Thiên Chúa cho xem.

2Ngày mồng năm trong tháng –vào năm thứ năm kể từ khi vua Giô-gia-khin bị đi đày–,

3có lời ĐỨC CHÚA phán với tư tế Ê-dê-ki-en, con ông Bu-di, trong xứ Can-đê, bên bờ sông Cơ-va. Ở đó, tay ĐỨC CHÚA đặt trên ông.

4Tôi nhìn, thì kìa một cơn gió bão từ phương bắc thổi đến ; có đám mây lớn, có lửa loé ra và ánh sáng chiếu toả chung quanh ; ở chính giữa như có một kim loại lấp lánh, ở chính giữa lửa.

5Ở chính giữa, có cái gì tựa như bốn sinh vật. Đây là dáng vẻ của chúng : chúng trông giống như người ta.

6Mỗi sinh vật có bốn mặt và bốn cánh.

7Còn chân của chúng thì thẳng ; bàn chân tựa bàn chân con bê, lấp lánh như đồng sáng loáng.

8Bên dưới cánh, có những bàn tay giống tay người quay về bốn phía ; mặt và cánh của bốn sinh vật cũng đều như thế.

9Cánh của chúng giáp vào nhau. Lúc đi, chúng không quay mặt vào nhau, nhưng cứ thẳng phía trước mặt mà tiến.

10Còn bộ mặt của chúng, thì chúng đều có mặt người, cả bốn đều có mặt sư tử bên phải, cả bốn đều có mặt bò rừng bên trái, cả bốn đều có mặt phượng hoàng.

11Đó là mặt của chúng. Còn cánh của chúng thì giương lên cao. Mỗi sinh vật có hai cánh giáp vào nhau và hai cánh khác phủ thân mình.

12Chúng cứ thẳng phía trước mặt mà đi, thần khí đẩy phía nào, chúng đi phía đó ; lúc đi chúng không quay mặt vào nhau.

13Ở giữa các sinh vật ấy, có cái gì giống như than hồng rực lửa, giống như ngọn đuốc, đang di chuyển giữa các sinh vật. Lửa phát ra ánh sáng và từ lửa phóng ra những tia chớp.

14Các sinh vật đi đi lại lại nhanh như chớp.

15Tôi nhìn các sinh vật, thì này bên cạnh mỗi sinh vật có bốn bộ mặt có một bánh xe ở dưới đất.

16Hình thù và cấu trúc của các bánh xe lấp lánh như mã não. Đó là hình thù của chúng. Còn cấu trúc của chúng giống như một bánh xe ở giữa một bánh xe.

17Lúc di chuyển, bốn bánh xe đi về bốn phía ; lúc đi, chúng không quay vào nhau.

18Các vành bánh xe rất lớn. Tôi nhìn, thì này cả bốn vành bánh xe đầy những mắt ở chung quanh.

19Khi các sinh vật đi, các bánh xe bên cạnh chúng cũng đi ; và khi các sinh vật cất mình lên khỏi mặt đất, thì các bánh xe cũng lên theo.

20Thần khí đẩy đi đâu, các sinh vật đi tới đó và các bánh xe cũng cất lên theo, vì thần khí của sinh vật ở trong các bánh xe.

21Khi các sinh vật tiến đi, các bánh xe cũng tiến theo ; các sinh vật dừng lại, các bánh xe cũng dừng lại ; các sinh vật cất mình lên khỏi mặt đất, các bánh xe cũng cất lên theo, vì thần khí của sinh vật ở trong các bánh xe.

22Trên đầu mỗi sinh vật, có một cái vòm trông lấp lánh như pha lê che trên đầu ngay trên chúng.

23Dưới cái vòm ấy, cánh chúng giương thẳng ra, cánh nọ chạm cánh kia ; mỗi sinh vật có hai cánh che phủ thân mình.

24Khi chúng đi, tôi nghe tiếng cánh vẫy giống như tiếng nước chảy mạnh ; như tiếng của Đấng Toàn Năng, tiếng ấy ồn ào như tiếng trong một doanh trại. Khi chúng dừng lại, thì cánh rủ xuống.

25Có tiếng vọng xuống từ trên cái vòm, ngay trên đầu chúng.

26Từ trên cái vòm, ngay trên đầu chúng, có cái gì giống như đá lam ngọc, tựa như cái ngai, và trên cái gì tựa như cái ngai đó, có cái trông như hình dáng một người ở trên ngai đó, ở trên cao.

27Và tôi thấy có cái gì giống như kim loại lấp lánh, giống như một đám lửa bao quanh, từ khoảng coi như ngang lưng trở lên, còn từ khoảng coi như ngang lưng trở xuống, tôi thấy có cái gì giống như một đám lửa và ánh sáng chiếu toả chung quanh.

28Như hình cầu vồng xuất hiện trên mây một ngày mưa thế nào, thì ánh sáng chiếu toả chung quanh cũng như vậy. Đó là một cái gì trông tựa vinh quang của ĐỨC CHÚA. Vừa thấy thế, tôi liền sấp mặt xuống, và tôi nghe có tiếng đang nói.
