1 Chronicles

1And David assembled all the chief men of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies, who waited on the king: and the captains over thousands, and over hundreds, and them who had the charge over the substance and possessions of the king, and his sons with the officers of the court, and the men of power, and all the bravest of the army at Jerusalem.

2And the king rising up, and standing said: Hear me, my brethren and my people: I had a thought to have built a house, in which the ark of the Lord, and the footstool of our God might rest: and I prepared all things for the building.

3And God said to me: Thou shalt not build a house to my name: because thou art a man of war, and hast shed blood.

4But the Lord God of Israel chose me of all the house of my father, to be king over Israel for ever: for of Juda he chose the princes: and of the house of Juda, my father’s house: and among the sons of my father, it pleased him to choose me king over all Israel.

5And among my sons (for the Lord hath given me many sons) he hath chosen Solomon my son, to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

6And he said to me: Solomon thy son shall build my house, and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be a father to him.

7And I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he continue to keep my commandments, and my judgments, as at this day.

8Now then before all the assembly of Israel, in the hearing of our God, keep ye, and seek all the commandments of the Lord our God: that you may possess the good land, and may leave it to your children after you for ever.

9And thou my son Solomon, know the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart, and a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the thoughts of minds. If thou seek him, thou shalt find him: but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

10Now therefore seeing the Lord hath chosen thee to build the house of the sanctuary, take courage, and do it.

11And David gave to Solomon his son a description of the porch, and of the temple, and of the treasures, and of the upper floor, and of the inner chambers, and of the house for the mercy seat,

12As also of all the courts, which he had in his thought, and of the chambers round about, for the treasures of the house of the Lord, and for the treasures of the consecrated things,

13And of the divisions of the priests and of the Levites, for all the works of the house of the Lord, and for all the vessels of the service of the temple of the Lord.

14Gold by weight for every vessel for the ministry. And silver by weight according to the diversity of the vessels and uses.

15He gave also gold for the golden candlesticks, and their lamps, according to the dimensions of every candlestick, and the lamps thereof. In like manner also he gave silver by weight for the silver candlesticks, and for their lamps according to the diversity of the dimensions of them.

16He gave also gold for the tables of proposition, according to the diversity of the tables: in like manner also silver for other tables of silver.

17For fleshhooks also, and bowls, and censers of fine gold, and for little lions of gold, according to the measure he gave by weight, for every lion. In like manner also for lions of silver he set aside a different weight of silver.

18And for the altar of incense, he gave the purest gold: and to make the likeness of the chariot of the cherubims spreading their wings, and covering the ark of the covenant of the Lord.

19All these things, said he, came to me written by the hand of the Lord that I might understand all the works of the pattern.

20And David said to Solomon his son: Act like a man, and take courage, and do: fear not, and be not dismayed: for the Lord my God will be with thee, and will not leave thee, nor forsake thee, till thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

21Behold the courses of the priests and the Levites, for every ministry of the house of the Lord, stand by thee, and are ready, and both the princes, and the people know how to execute all thy commandments.

1Vua Đa-vít triệu tập về Giê-ru-sa-lem các thủ lãnh trong Ít-ra-en : thủ lãnh các chi họ, lãnh đạo các ban ngành phục vụ nhà vua, các vị chỉ huy hàng ngàn và hàng trăm quân, các người quản lý tài sản cũng như súc vật của vua, các người coi sóc con vua, cùng với các hoạn quan, các dũng sĩ và toàn thể lực lượng tinh binh.

2“Hỡi anh em, hỡi đồng bào, hãy nghe đây ! Ta đã từng ấp ủ trong lòng ý định xây cất một ngôi nhà làm nơi đặt Hòm Bia Giao Ước của ĐỨC CHÚA, làm bệ chân cho Thiên Chúa chúng ta, và ta đã chuẩn bị cho việc xây cất này.

3Nhưng Thiên Chúa đã phán với ta : ‘Ngươi không được xây nhà kính danh Ta, vì ngươi đã nhiều phen giao chiến và đổ máu quá nhiều.’

4Giữa bao nhiêu người trong nhà cha ta, ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của Ít-ra-en, chỉ chọn ta làm vua cai quản Ít-ra-en đến muôn đời. Quả thật, Người đã chọn Giu-đa lên lãnh đạo, và trong nhà Giu-đa, chọn nhà thân phụ ta ; rồi trong các con của thân phụ ta, Người đã ưu ái chọn ta làm vua toàn thể Ít-ra-en.

5Và trong tất cả các con trai ta –quả ĐỨC CHÚA đã ban cho ta nhiều con trai– Người đã chọn Sa-lô-môn con ta lên ngự ngai vàng của ĐỨC CHÚA mà cai quản Ít-ra-en.

6Người đã phán với ta : ‘Chính Sa-lô-môn, con ngươi, sẽ xây nhà và các sân của Ta, vì Ta đã chọn nó làm con, và Ta sẽ là cha của nó.

7Ta sẽ củng cố vương quyền của nó đến muôn đời nếu nó cố gắng thi hành mệnh lệnh và luật pháp của Ta như hiện nay.’

8Vậy giờ đây, trước mặt toàn thể Ít-ra-en, đại hội của ĐỨC CHÚA, có Thiên Chúa chúng ta đang nghe, các ngươi hãy tuân giữ và theo dõi mọi mệnh lệnh của ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa các ngươi. Có thế các ngươi mới tiếp tục chiếm hữu đất nước tốt đẹp này và sẽ để lại làm gia nghiệp muôn đời cho con cháu mai sau.

9Phần con, Sa-lô-môn, con của cha, con hãy nhận biết Thiên Chúa của cha con mà trọn niềm phụng sự với tâm hồn phấn khởi, vì ĐỨC CHÚA dò xét mọi tâm can và thấu suốt mọi tư tưởng đang hình thành. Nếu con tìm kiếm Người, Người sẽ cho con được gặp ; nhưng nếu con lìa xa Người, Người sẽ lìa bỏ con.

10Con cứ nghĩ mà xem : ĐỨC CHÚA quả đã chọn con để xây một ngôi nhà làm thánh điện. Hãy cương quyết bắt tay vào việc đi !”

11Vua Đa-vít trao cho thái tử Sa-lô-môn mẫu của tiền đường, của các ngôi nhà, kho chứa, các phòng lầu, phòng trong và cung xá tội.

12Vua cũng trao mẫu tất cả các công trình vua dự tính xây : các sân Nhà ĐỨC CHÚA, các phòng chung quanh dùng làm kho báu của Nhà Thiên Chúa, các nơi cất giữ đồ thánh ;

13các phòng dành cho các ban tư tế và Lê-vi, các phòng dùng vào mọi công tác phục vụ Nhà ĐỨC CHÚA và các phòng để vật dụng phục vụ Nhà ĐỨC CHÚA.

14Vua ấn định bao nhiêu vàng cho tất cả các đồ phải làm bằng vàng dùng trong mỗi công việc, và bao nhiêu bạc cho tất cả các đồ phải làm bằng bạc dùng trong mỗi công việc ;

15về các trụ đèn bằng vàng cùng với đèn, bao nhiêu vàng cho mỗi trụ và đèn ; về các trụ đèn bằng bạc, bao nhiêu bạc cho mỗi trụ và đèn, tuỳ theo công dụng của mỗi vật ;

16bao nhiêu vàng cho các bàn dâng tiến, cho từng bàn một, và bao nhiêu bạc cho các bàn bằng bạc ;

17vàng ròng cho các xiên, các bình rảy và bình rượu tế ; cho các chén bằng vàng, bao nhiêu vàng cho mỗi chén ; cho các chén bằng bạc, bao nhiêu bạc cho mỗi chén ;

18bao nhiêu vàng tinh luyện cho hương án ; vua Đa-vít cũng trao mẫu chiếc xe và mẫu các Kê-ru-bim bằng vàng xoè cánh trên Hòm Bia Giao Ước của ĐỨC CHÚA.

19Tất cả đều ở trong một văn bản chính tay ĐỨC CHÚA viết để cho vua biết rõ mọi chi tiết trong dự án.

20Vua Đa-vít nói với thái tử Sa-lô-môn : “Hãy cương quyết và mạnh dạn bắt tay vào việc ! Đừng sợ hãi, đừng khiếp đảm ! Vì ĐỨC CHÚA là Thiên Chúa, Thiên Chúa của cha, sẽ ở cùng con ; Người sẽ không để mặc hoặc bỏ rơi con, nhưng sẽ giúp con hoàn tất toàn bộ công trình phục vụ Nhà ĐỨC CHÚA.

21Và này có các ban tư tế và Lê-vi sẵn sàng lo mọi việc phục dịch Nhà Thiên Chúa. Rồi trong bất cứ công việc nào, con cũng có sẵn tất cả những người nhiệt tình và thành thạo mọi chuyện. Các thủ lãnh và toàn dân, hết thảy đều chờ lệnh con.”
